Victor won’t explain himself and is disappointed that Adam didn’t keep his mouth shut. After he leaves, Nikki and Chelsea worry about kidnapping/blackmail. Adam’s sure his Dad wouldn’t harm Lily and the kids. We have to trust him.

Phyllis doesn’t want to operate under the name Newman – it makes her sick. Newman equates with success – Cane wouldn’t change Coca Cola to Cane Cola either – it just doesn’t make sense. We just need to focus on making companies under the Newman umbrella even more successful.

What if it’s your last chance to make things right with your mother? Are you willing to risk that? Jack doesn’t get an answer. Thanks for listening, Billy needs to go meet Sally.

Jack gets home as Diane’s on the phone with Kyle; he met with accounting and PR – our profit and consumer confidence are at an all time low. Their job now is to rebuild trust. Jack points out that Diane was wrong to think Mike’s friendship would supersede his decades-long allegiance to Victor. You were wrong in assuming the same about Nikki, Diane counters.

If only there was a way to find out how far along Victor is with his plan – and intervene. Chelsea still wants to ask Lily to be part of the plan. None of us have a chance to mediate now – that all ended when you told my Dad I broke his confidence, Adam grumbles. He and Nikkki seem to blame Chelsea. Now we have no idea how far Victor will go!

Still in their new office, Phyllis wants notoriety for her hard work – to say ‘screw you’ to all the people who didn’t believe in her. The people that matter most are going to know that you’re the woman behind the curtain, Cane reminds – WE are in control now. Victor appears on cue to say ‘I wouldn’t count on it’.

Jack balks – you can’t compare your friendship with Mike to mine with Nikki. Diane hates their connection almost as much as Victor does – you thought Nikki would help and you’re still giving her the benefit of the doubt. Yes, Jack is. Then why can’t you do the same for Mike? Diane makes a good point.

At Society, Lauren empathizes with Billy and comments on how unusual it is that Jill didn’t know the details of what’s going on with Chancellor. So, nothing came up about the hostile takeover when you talked to her????

Nikki won’t give up until Victor tells her what’s going on AND bring Lily into the plan. I wouldn’t blame her if she refused but we have to try. Adam thinks it might be too late – Victor could be using Cane’s family as a bargaining chip as we speak.

Victor would like a private word with Cane (which doesn’t go over well with Phyllis) – it’s personal, about your family. What could you possibly have to say to me about my family? Cane’s puzzled.

Mike’s never defied Victor, Nikki has, Jack points out – on multiple occasions. He’s sure Nikki would stand against Victor to save Jabot. When push comes to shove, neither Mike or Nikki will cross him. Jack will agree to disagree. Diane sees one thing they can agree on – Victor’s getting what he deserves.

When Billy assumes Mike feels caught between a rock and a hard place, Mike agrees – watching people you care about pulverize people isn’t fun.

Nikki’s relationship with Lily is delicate. She hates that she’s inadvertently made things harder for Lily and the twins; it’s unbearable. It’s not your fault, Adam and Chelsea console Nikki. How far were you willing to take this – would you have spoken up at all? she and Chelsea have to ask Adam.

On her way out, Phyllis perches on the desk Victor’s sitting behind. You can’t stop what’s happening – don’t mess up my desk, she leaves Victor to offer Cane a deal – sign Newman back over to me or you’ll never see your family again.
