At the ranch, Victor updates Nikki that Dom’s on his way home with Abby and Devon; Mariah’s been arrested – she’s coming home with Sharon. No word from Cane. Billy Boy may have been right that he’s trying to double cross me.
Meanwhile, Cane’s still putting the ‘sleeping’ in his ‘sleeping car’.
Cane’s a born liar, Victor huffs. So is Billy, Nikki wonders what the next move is. Grabbing his phone, Victor will find out right now.
In Victor’s old office, Phyllis assures Billy that Cane will be out for at least an hour. With a few keystrokes, she transfers NE to herself, folds Newman Media into Abbott Communications for Sally – and Chancellor to Billy. Barging in, Victoria’s disgusted (but not surprised) to find them together.
Nikki’s at Jack’s with good news about Dom, bad news about Billy’s visit to the ranch (saying that Cane’s double crossing Victor – though she suspects he’s working with him and Phyllis) As much as Jack loathes Victor, he doesn’t want Nikki to lose Chancellor. No, he’s not ‘in the loop’, nor does he want to be. How far will Victor go to preserve his legacy? Who will get hurt? Nikki’s beside herself.
Informed that Cane’s ‘no longer involved in this endeavour’, Victoria mocks Phyllis – you’ve already stabbed him in the back. Phyllis has sole ownership of NE and won’t let ‘her precious’ go.
Victor finds Cane star-fished on his bed; Ashby! he grunts, taps him on the wrist, then calls Adam; ‘we have a problem’.
Stop being judgemental and congratulate me, Phyllis is in her glory. Victoria accuses both her and Billy of screwing over their own kids.
Jack continues to rant n’ rave about Victor; it makes his blood boil to see what he’s done to Nikki. She knows he won’t give up his legacy – what if he lashes out if all is lost? Both know he’ll come after Jack first. You’re our only hope to stop him, he implores.
Adam joins his Dad in Cane’s sleeping car. Is he….? Adam snaps his fingers and calls his name. Smell the chloroform? Victor correctly guesses that Phyllis probably knocked Cane out while Billy was keeping them busy.
Victor and Adam conclude that Phyllis and Billy are working together – for how long though? Victor suspects Phyllis always planned to betray Cane.
My father never touched Jabot, Victoria argues with Billy (as Phyllis chimes in every now and then) NE means the world to my father. You wanna go there!? Billy asks – how many lives did John Abbott ruin to build Jabot? Our fathers are NOT alike! They then argue about how the kids will react. Victoria will make sure they know everything; the kids will never want to see you again! she leaves Billy looking worried.
Jack points out that Victor won’t have lost everything – he has you, his kids, grandkids, the properties – why not sit back and enjoy it? He’s given me this family, Nikki’s in tears – this AI program is tearing us apart. VICTOR’S the one who used it, Jack’s frustrated. Nikki worries that Victor might go so far that she can’t take it anymore. Jack’s holding her closely when Diane appears in the doorway.
Victoria talks to Victor and Adam (on speakerphone) as they’re driving. Phyllis and Billy have taken over but are bound to make a mistake – we’ll get the company back, she’s sure – especially with Cane out of the mix.
Running into Nate at CL’s, Victoria’s happy to hear that Dom’s on his way home with his parents. Nate wants to tell Lily but she’s been off the grid – she doesn’t even know her nephew was missing. Back the the Newman’s hell, Victoria reports that Cane betrayed them; Phyllis betrayed him – and Billy’s in the middle of it. She’s going to tell the kids that he broke the law and will make sure they cut him off!
