When Nate stops by, Abby goes upstairs to check on Dom. Devon couldn’t wait til morning to speak to his cousin after all – he’s worried about Lily. Cane suddenly dropped out of the takeover when Lily and the kids fell off the grid, Nate adds. Devon confronted Cane – he basically said that they’re being held by somebody but saying more might put Lily and the kids in danger. Devon thinks he knows why Cane held back.
Cane will do anything to free his family, Victor’s taken steps to make sure he does (but won’t say what those steps are) He reiterates to Victoria and Nikki that Phyllis won’t care if Summer sides with them.
Phyllis won’t cooperate – I’m leaving – tell Shrek to get out of the way. Cane stops her – you’re not going anywhere.
Cane tells Phyllis that they can gut NE before giving it back to Victor – we can build something bigger than Arabesque even. She sadly realizes that he was lying all along – you never stopped loving Lily.
What would make Cane give up? Devon believes he was forced to by the only person who could force that guy to do anything. You think Victor kidnapped Lily and the twins as leverage? Nate does know that this is the most devastating blow Victor’s faced – but he’s always had a soft spot for Lily. Yeah, but he didn’t care about hurting her when he took Chancellor – who knows how far he’d go? Devon has to ask.
Phyllis has been strutting around like she has nothign to lose – but she stands to lose her kids’ love. Cane can push her buttons but she’s still going to Milan and hopes Nick will go with her. Victor knows he won’t go, given what he’s dealing with. What’s he dealing with? Victoria wonders.
Noah and Burrow want to help Nick. But no, Burrow’s cop friends won’t know where Matt is. He left a free man. Normally he’d caution against taking the law into your own hands – but it might be your only choice.
Nate hates to think that Devon’s right. He doesn’t think Victoria knows. She says her Dad’s only confiding in Adam. When Abby comes down, Devon asks for permission to go track down a lead on Lily. Yes, of course, Abby’s left to wonder.
Phyllis knew Cane was genuinely concerned about his kids, and Lily – you’re not a monster. But she foolishly believed he was ready to cut ties and move on. His concern for his family explains reneging on their plans and ‘capitulating’ to Victor, she’s near tears. All that talk about cutting ties when they disowned you; was that a lie? Cane was lying to himself – the only time he ever felt whole was when he was with his family. He also chokes up – family/love is everything. No amount of power, wealth, or vindication is worth it – isn’t that right, Phyllis?
Nick and Newman security will track Matt down. Sharon knows he’ll come back – it might take years, a decade – but he’ll come back. It doesn’t seem like he’s wasting any time.
With her Mom’s support, Victoria vows to focus on her plan to get the company back (using Summer) Dad and Nick should focus on Matt Clark.
Matt got extremely lucky getting his case thrown out; would he be stupid enough to come back? Burrow asks. Along with Sharon, Nick’s sure he’ll be back, it’s just a matter of when.
Love and family are the only things that matter, Phyllis thinks Cane sounds like Victor. What if there was a way of fooling him into thinking he won? You (Phyllis) can do it – you’re ‘sitting in his office’. Just fool him long enough to release my family, Cane implores.
Devon and Nate are at the ranch to confront Victor – come clean; where the hell are Lily and the kids?
