Nate asked me what I’d do if we didn’t get NE back; is this a lost cause? Victoria wonders. Nikki can’t say that – but she loathes Phyllis (who has the nerve to ‘cackle’ in ‘our’ offices) Victoria wonders what would even be left if they got their company back. Maybe it is the end of an era after all, Nikki looks sad.

No, that’s not what Billy meant. Sally feels the whole point of his speech is that ‘I should believe in YOU’. You’re not hearing me – my father disappearing all the time broke my heart! I’d never abandon you, Billy vows. You chose Chancellor over me, Sally cries. No, he has Chancellor now ‘and it doesn’t mean half as much without you’.

Audra’s always looking for someone to use, it’s how she functions, Kyle knows. She won’t give up on you, Claire believes. He disagrees – she had something real with Nate. Claire will ‘let it go’ IF Audra keeps leaving her alone. Kyle admits he’s a bit jealous of Holden but wants Claire to be happy. He hopes he was wrong to be wary of Holden. Claire doesn’t think he was wrong.

Audra remembers Holden never leaving the Shadow Room with the same woman twice. That was how you rolled. The player she knew in LA is gone – you’re falling for Claire.

We’re going to get it all back before Phyllis destroys it, Victoria vows. Nikki thinks it might be time for her and Victor to enjoy their blessings – you kids can go build your own legacies. Wouldn’t that be wonderful? Do you really want to give up? Victoria’s disappointed.

Holden’s lying to me – covering up a secret – you know how I feel abut that, Claire adds that he keeps changing the subject; whatever it is must be so awful it would change everything for Holden (and me too if I’m with him)

Holden doesn’t want to be in the middle of Audra and Claire. The middle? Audra scoffs – you always take HER side. She didn’t find out anything – yet, and she’s done with me so there’s no need to dig into our past. That psycho never deserved you – good riddance. Anyone who doesn’t believe in you can go straight to hell, Audra declares.

Billy wanting Chancellor didn’t change how he felt about Sally. We were building something together, she whimpers. We still can – we can build a life together; that’s how Billy still sees it – why don’t you? What if it goes wrong? she wavers. What if it goes right? He brings up that night in Nice, where she wrote ‘I love you’ on his hand. Indelible ink that never faded for Billy – why did it for you??

Nikki hasn’t given up yet, she just needs some time. You’re the heart and soul of this family, Victoria needs to play ‘this part’. Newman is a tribute to my father’s strength – she won’t stop fighting until they have everything back that belongs to them.

Audra advises Holden to find someone else – what’s so special about Claire anyway? You can find other dimples that won’t risk jail time. When Holden reiterates that Claire’s ‘ on from me and you’, Audra needs to hear it from Claire herself. Then, with luck, I never have to speak to her again.

The Shadow Room was a sketchy bar run by sketchy people, Kyle thinks that maybe Audra’s art dealer was mixed up with something. Claire’s inclined to believe that what he was mixed up with was Holden and Audra. You were right about Holden all along, she admits.

You were great that night – we can be great again, Billy continues -we’re good together – we can run our respective companies and spend our evenings/nights together. Chancellor is his destiny – and so is Sally. I believe in us – can you believe in us too? He sits her down to write on her hand. I love you. Sally finally convinced, they kiss.

My Thoughts: Empanadas are delicious and reading is an enjoyable hobby – but they should never be enjoyed simultaneously; the pages would get greasy … It makes zero sense for Claire to be so obsessed with Audra. She should be using her investigative/psycho-obsessive skills against Phyllis, Billy and Cane. And why does she have to shoehorn her beloved grandfather into every conversation she has with Kyle? It’s equally nauseating to hear Victoria blather on, day after day, hand-wringing about her poor Daddy … Sally’s gonna get ink all over Billy’s nice outfit – and she doesn’t appear dressed for a ‘civil good bye’ with Billy. He’d ‘do anything to win her back’, yet all he can come up with is candles, bubbly and snacks? You have a company jet; rent your niece’s restaurant for the evening or have dinner catered at Sally’s office (oh wait, she doesn’t have one) .. You’d think Sally and Audra would have more important things to do – they have two companies to run and hundreds of employees who have no idea who their boss is. Why is Audra doing the company logo anyway? She was lucky enough that Sally hired her – being made co-CEO and having the company named after her is bonkers… Seeing Nikki so stressed, I have to wonder (again) why her MS hasn’t ‘flared up’ and her mention of Phyllis ‘cackling’ in their office reminded me that I don’t ever recall her being at Chancellor.
