In their hotel suite, Nick’s sweaty, antsy and jittery. Adam has cards face down on the table. Poker is about bluffing and lying; one of these hands is trash, the other one’s a winner. How good are you at hiding the truth? he tells Nick to pick up one of the hands.
Knock knock – room Service. I didn’t order anything, Risa opens the door anyway. April Fools, Matt gives her a big kiss.
At CL’s, Daniel and Tessa are both a bit down (him because of his Mom, her because of Mariah) They’ll commiserate – like old times.
Having dropped Mariah off, Sharon ends a chaotic conference call with Noah and Faith. She’s looking completely overwhelmed when Phyllis approaches to ask ‘what’s wrong’?
On the patio, Tessa and Daniel compare notes on their respective good byes. My mother is exhausting, he tells Tessa about Summer’s letter. Now with the ‘misery portion’ of the evening over, they chuckle – maybe talking isn’t the answer.
Her suite set up with a bar and card table, Risa didn’t expect to see Matt tonight. He wants to watch her in action – I can serve drinks or you can deal me in, he persists.
Adam knows that Nick’s bluffing – it’s a gift. He also knows that his brother’s lying when he says he’s ‘fine’.
Sharon thanks Phyllis for caring. We had a bond; what you’ve done affects a lot of people – how could you do this to Summer? Don’t you dare mention my daughter, Phyllis snaps.
Phyllis whines about everyone but her getting a free pass. Sharon explains that Victor built Newman so that he could protect himself and his loved ones. Is it really worth having Newman if you lose your kids?
Back on the patio, Daniel strums; Tessa sings their original song. Danny sneaks in unseen to watch/listen with a smile.
Adam has to approach this carefully. An impatient Nick just has too much time on his hands. Go, impress Risa, he’s left to look sweaty and jumpy.
Matt suspects Risa doesn’t want him around because her ‘buddy’ is in town. She wants to see if he’s still got the chops – no one’s better if he’s in the zone. Matt really wants to meet this guy.
Matt pours himself a shot of ‘top shelf’ alcohol. He has to go handle something – see you soon, he gives Risa a kiss (too bad – he really wanted to meet her friend)
