Victor tells the boys that Victoria’s delivering evidence to the new DA – Christine (which works out well for us) Nick finds it hard to believe that Phyllis, Cane and Billy would leave a trail of evidence – is this evidence legit? Why would I claim it otherwise? Victor frowns.

Billy made the decision to steal from my parents, Victoria wants the chips to fall where they may. Billy took part in the theft so he can take his punishment with the rest of them. Chris continues to dissuade her.

Mike warns that a judge and jury can be convinced by ‘fake’ evidence; there’s also the department heads. Though Lauren knows Mike can paint them as ‘disgruntled employees’, he insists the best option is Phyllis giving Victor what he wants. If we lose, you’ll accuse me of throwing the case. ‘Then, don’t lose’, is Phyllis’ answer.

Adam agrees with Nick – Phyllis wouldn’t leave a trail of evidence. Victor doesn’t care if the emails are legitimate – Phyllis stole from me and will lose in court – she has no chance.

Mike knows Phyllis can’t beat Victor. YOU can’t beat him – that’s why Phyllis has put together a list of the best lawyers. Mike grabs the list and laughs – your first candidate was disbarred, your second choice was indicted – your third pick is ‘killer’ – but Victor hired her last week. He’s gotten to every pick on that list, Mike’s sure. Pissed that Mike’s stabbed her in the back, Phyllis leaves Lauren to glare at her hubby.

Matt’s dead, I killed him. What more can I say?!! Sharon persists – where did the altercation take place? In the desert – he was chasing me – what difference does it make? He’s dead. I can’t…. Sienna runs out. What’s going on? Nick arrives. Ask Mom, Noah says as he hurries out.

Maybe I pushed Sienna too hard, Sharon admits to Nick. He’s sure Noah can calm her down. How’s Nick feeling? Better – a bit shaky. He can’t believe he got addicted to drugs. It wasn’t your fault; it happens to good people every day, Sharon’s supportive. Nick’s having a hard time coming to terms with putting people he loves in danger.

Adam knew something was off with Nick. Victor sees his sons getting along as a silver lining. Victoria arrives to report that she gave the evidence to Chris – let’s see if she runs with it.

When the Baldwins follow her to the bar, Phyllis makes it clear that she’s still mad at Mike for representing Sharon. Yeah, she was innocent – but so am I! The worst lawyer on this list is better than you! After Phyllis leaves, Mike doesn’t know what else he can say to her. You better figure out what you’re going to say to ME, Lauren piles on.

Chris will do the right thing, Victor believes she’ll follow the evidence. Yes, he spoke to Mike – he won’t represent Phyllis if he knows what’s good for him.

Lauren’s furious that Mike won’t represent Phyllis because of Victor – you just can’t let him go.

Phyllis slams into her office to ask her portrait – why is everyone out to get me?

Sharon tells Nick that Sienna got agitated when she suggested Matt might not be dead. Yes, of course she has doubts – it’s Matt!

Sure enough; a bloodied Matt’s laying in the desert. His eyes suddenly pop open.

Next Week: OMG – this can’t be happening, Lily frets when Chris and a police officer lead a handcuffed Cane towards the revolving door. It’s fine – I’ll post bail and get to NY, he promises…. Well, hello you two, Patty joins Diane and Victor at the club’s bar – can this day get any better? she beams … Are you OK? a young woman asks Matt. How far away am I from this place? he hands her a business card…..

My Thoughts: I’m no DA, but I do watch Law & Order. Is Chris suggesting that she’d forget all about this case if Victoria decided she wanted to shield Billy? Wouldn’t the logical move be to have Billy testify against Victor in exchange for a lenient sentence (or no sentence at all)? Has it not occurred to Victoria that Billy wouldn’t need much convincing to testify against Victor?…. Chris does know that anyone can set up email accounts and type anything they want, right? Why doesn’t she seem surprised to learn that there’s an AI program so powerful that it kicked the Newmans out of Newman Enterprises? … Imagine if the Newmans decided to put their energy and resources towards doing some good in the world – like opening up a non-profit facility for drug/alcohol rehabilitation.
