When Victoria drops by her Mom’s suite, Nikki’s too upset to say what her nightmare was about. ‘I don’t know what I’d do without my children’, she cries and clings to Victoria.
How’d you know what to do? Sienna can’t believe Matt just jumped in like that. Who IS this person? she smiles. Matt honestly doesn’t know. Ready to be transported by the medics, Nick slumps in his Dad’s arms. You gave us a scare, Victor says – they’ll take good care of you. You saved him, Sharon praises Phyllis. The medic agrees – CPR saved his life. Victor and Matt stare at one another.
Back on the patio, Kyle can’t imagine anything worse for the Newmans than losing their company. Jack can’t betray a confidence but there are worse things. When Kyle excuses himself to take a call, Jack calls Nikki to say he’d be happy to meet her and Nick for breakfast. He hasn’t responded, Nikki frets. Don’t think the worst, Jack’s sure Nick WILL beat this. Ending the call, Nikki’s headache is back (which worries Victoria)
There haven’t been that many; less than a hundred, Holden jokes. More than ten? Claire wants to hear about some of the women in Holden’s life – or, just the important ones. Zero? They’ve all been flings? Holden just hasn’t found the right woman yet. How about you? Claire’s only been with one other man; Kyle. Is it really over between you two? Holden asks.
After Nick’s wheeled out on a gurney, Sienna tells Noah that she wants to stay behind to find out what’s going on with Matt – she’ll meet him at the hospital soon. After Noah and Sharon leave, Phyllis credits Matt – I didn’t save Nick, you did – you were incredible. How did you know how to do that? Matt doesn’t know; not that anyone believes him. Phyllis believes him. He’s not mad that she tricked him into coming here – you were just looking out for yourself; it’s what everyone does. No, it’s NOT what everyone does – that’s not what YOU did. You had a chance to escape and didn’t. When two of his security guys arrive, Victor orders them to take Matt to the ranch. What are you going to do with me? Matt asks.
Kyle and I are definitely over, Claire doesn’t love him anymore. It wasn’t in the cards for us. Are WE in the cards? Holden wonders. It’s looking pretty good, Claire says as they hit the bed.
‘You saved my sons’ life, for that I’m grateful’, Victor tells Matt. Now, take him away. You don’t have to do this, Matt says as he’s led out. This is wrong! Phyllis protests. Wasn’t that our deal? Victor reminds. What are you going to do to him? Sienna asks (and gets no answer)
Nikki just needs a nice hot bath and a good night’s sleep. Nick will be alright, Victoria assures her. On cue, Victor calls Nikki’s phone. ‘Go to the hospital right away. Nick had an overdose’. OMG! Noooooo!! Nikki bursts into tears. Victoria takes her Mom’s phone – is he alive?! Yes, but it was a close call. ‘We’re on our way’, Victoria tells her Mom that Nick’s alive as she hustles her out.

My Thoughts: Nice that Victor called Nikki, I guess – but he could have sent a car for her instead of expecting her to hop in her Ferrari … Kinda rude of Holden to leave Claire in his room while he visited Malcolm then had lame cafeteria dinner with his Mom. There’s no reason he couldn’t have brought Claire along. That said, Claire has legs and NYC has no shortage of taxis. Instead of snooping through Holden’s suitcase, Claire could have been wandering around Central Park or Times Square, gone up the Empire State Building or Statue of Liberty, visited the 9/11 Memorial or the Guggenheim. Find something to DO EXCEPT make out with Holden. I mean, Phyllis giving Nick mouth to mouth was hotter than Claire and Holden hooking up.
