Nick jots down a note to Marie on the motel stationery. He hopes she finds a way out of this life – I hope we both do. Uh oh – giving her a shake, Marie appears to be dead.
Nate’s not sure he’ll be able to operate again but Stephanie’s put him in touch with a specialist who had a new technique. Lily refuses to ‘forget about it’ – she insists he pursue his dream. Don’t make me fire you. Neil would want us to follow our hearts – go for it.
Yes, Nikki told Jack – but YOU are my best friend, he tells Diane that he offered to be Nick’s sponsor. If it makes any difference, Nikki and Victor are back together and madly in love. They’re in Venice as we speak. Diane declares Nikki a fool.
Devon gets a text from Nate – he wants me to come by for a talk, he tells Abby.
Marie! Nick starts pumping her chest – please, come back to me! When she awakens with a gasp to ask what happened, Nick wants to get her to a hospital. You almost died! I WANT to die! Marie snaps – leave me alone.
Thanking Devon for coming (to his place) Nate wastes no time repeating what he told Lily.
Lily meets Cane at the club’s bar for a drink – it’s been a weird night. Yes, she IS happy and has exciting news to share that will have a huge impact on everyone they know (a bit of an overstatement)
Diane thinks it pathetic that Nikki took Victor back. Jack understands that her being blind brought them together – this doesn’t concern us. Nikki is NOT a good friend – but, Diane agrees to let it go – for now.
Marie won’t go to the hospital – they’ll call my husband. The whole damn world will know how far I’ve fallen! Leave me the hell alone! Nick can’t – he wants to help (both of them) Marie gives a whole new meaning to ‘ugly cry’. After she rolls over, Nick makes the call.
Nate’s inspired by Devon following his passion and realized how much he wants to operate again. Devon feels bad for taking Nate’s dream away. Nate forgave him a long time ago. Lily? She’s happy for both of us.
Lily couldn’t say no to Nate – she has no regrets. Things will change moving forward. Cane interrupts to say that he’d gladly step aside if she wants to run Chancellor again.
After the sirens and lights fade, Nick closes the door and crawls into bed to weep.
Lily declares Cane’s offer generous and surprising; you’d give up a job you love because of me? Cane can lose the job; he couldn’t lose her. Lily plans to run Winters; Cane will run Chancellor. They toast ‘to new adventures’.
If there’s a chance you can operate again, Devon will do everything in his power to help Nate. We’re the Winters family – we can do anything ~hug~
Jack knows Nick has a long road ahead of him; it’s about one choice – get off the stuff or die. Hopefully, Nick makes the right choice.
Crying in bed, Nick makes a call – Sharon, I’m in bad shape; I need you to come and get me.
