Back at the cafe, Jack balks at taking Chancellor from Lily – it feels wrong. Billy’s pissed that his brother’s pouring cold water on his future – I’m going to run the company that’s rightfully ours and enjoy every minute of it!
Johnny calls Victoria to say that he and Christian are going to a movie. Nikki praises her for taking her nephew in. Surprised to hear that Nick asked Adam to check in on him, she’s sceptical that he can be the stable influence Christian needs.
Adam tells Chelsea how conflicted he was talking to Christian – he couldn’t guarantee that his Dad would beat this and worries he won’t be able to. Chelsea suspects talking to Christian may be causing Adam to regret letting Nick raise his biological son.
When Kyle chimes in to say that this would be tied up in court for years, Billy’s not surprised he’d ‘rubber stamp’ whatever his father said. The contract that needs to be honoured, he insists. Don’t pretend this is about honouring our father, Jack points out that John could have called the loan in at any time. Are you prepared for an expensive, drawn out fight? ‘Damn right’ Billy is.
Lily doesn’t want to let Billy keep digging and digging – it will hurt the company. We should cut our losses and fire him immediately.
When Kyle reminds Billy that he said he was going to prioritize Sally and the baby, he’s accused of trying to stir things up. I can handle my business and family, Billy doesn’t need a lecture from Kyle. Sally almost left you over your obsession with Chancellor, Jack reminds. She’ll support me, and I know YOU won’t! Billy has nothing else to say – so stomps off. He’s doing it again, Jack sighs – he can’t help himself.
Nikki doesn’t approve of Adam going to check in on his biological son – he did try to get custody of him once, she reminds. ‘You’re blowing this out of proportion’, Victoria points out that Chelsea’s never come after Johnny (her biological son)
No, Adam doesn’t regret letting Nick raise Christian; he’s a great father to him. He just wishes they could pave over all the mistakes they’ve made. Would Christian be part of that do-over? Adam sees a lot of himself in Christian. I’m not rooting for Nick to fail so I can step in as his Dad, Adam surprises Chelsea by being defensive.
Cane assures Lily that he can handle Billy; give me more time – we can make it work. ‘To Billy’, he raises his mug to make a toast. On cue, Billy arrives to glare at them.
If Victoria gets the slightest hint that Adam’s feeling a ‘fatherly pull’ towards Christian, she’ll have Daddy straighten him out. Though still sceptical, Nikki reluctantly gives him the benefit of the doubt.
Chelsea thinks it understandable if watching Christian is a ‘tricky’ request for Adam. Nick is his father in every way; Adam will keep his promise to take care of Christian. Victor makes a timely appearance to say that they must all be in Nick’s corner.
Still at the cafe, Kyle looks at the loan documents on his phone; they DO look real. Maybe Billy’s right – maybe Chancellor DOES belong to us.
