With all the good things happening in Billy’s life, Jack thought he’d be able to get over his obsession with Chancellor. Ashley thinks Billy needs it to be ‘complete’. He wants autonomy – is that so difficult to understand? Are you siding with Billy on this!? Jack’s scowls.
I offered you a job, Cane’s indignant. No, you threw me a bone to look good for Lily (who points out that Cane’s been defending him) There’s no malice here, Billy insists – except towards his ‘beloved mother’.
Nate impresses Stephanie with his culinary skills (soup and grilled cheese) and his humour. Taking his hand, she’s talking about his injury when her ‘surgeon-friend’ calls back.
Wanting no part in trashing Jill, Cane spots Holden’s arrival and leaves Lily to warn Billy that she won’t cave into his delusions without a fight. You’ll lose everything that matters to you, she promises and marches out.
At the bar, Cane asks Holden if he found anything in the archives. No, Holden asks about his conversation with Billy; who appears to ask if Cane’s fired him yet – or do you want me to do the honours?
Relax, Ashley doesn’t condone Billy’s behaviour, but she understands it. Traci agrees – how many times have you tried to stop him from being his own worst enemy? Jack needs to stop Billy before he goes too far (and hurts their fathers’ legacy)
Ending her call, Stephanie tells Nate that her friend’s flying in from Chicago. She thinks you’re an excellent candidate. You’ll be back in the OR wowing the world with your talent again, she predicts.
