Drinking coffee to keep herself awake, Ashley thanks Alan for staying up with her. Happy that her supportive sister’s asleep, Ashley insists on seeing this through – before one of her alters takes control. Who knows when I’d get it back?

Alan tries to convince Ashley to sleep – the more you know about your alters, the more in control you are. He’s impressed with her progress but worried about his dangerous twin brother and feels responsible for whatever trauma he caused Ashley. Told that hypnosis might unlock her memory, she insists on it.

Alan caving to her demands, Ashley’s hypnotized within 10 seconds. She’s sharing her vivid recollection when Traci silently sits in. Martin whispered something in her ear. ‘I have a new piece of art I want you to see’. We have to go to your townhouse! Ashley awakens to insist. Listening to Tucker’s voicemail, she guesses it was Martin he ran into.

Ashley calls Tucker, despite it being after midnight. How did you know I was in Paris? she tells him it wasn’t Alan he ran into – just leave it alone ~click~ Alan’s shocked – his brother’s been here the whole time. Ashley NEEDS to do this – NOW!

In Alan’s townhouse, Ashley immediately spots the painting Martin wanted to show her. They’d talked over drinks, she recalls. When a loud sound startles them, Alan doesn’t know what it is – no one’s supposed to be here.

As Alan goes to see if he left a window open, Traci and Ashley again heap praise on one another. Looking at the sofa, Ashley remembers Martin saying that Tucker wanted to humiliate/terrorize her – you need to move on. She balks when he calls her an ‘interesting subject’. Alan returns to update that he sees no sign that someone’s been there. Again placed under hypnosis, Ashley remembers Martin convincing her to recreate the fight – he’ll play the role of Tucker. You’re trembling! Traci remarks when Ashley jolts awake. Ashley insists they continue.

Traci wants Ashley to pick this up after she’s slept. Alan has to side with Ashley. She’s in good hands, he promises. But, as he starts to put her under, Miss Abbott tries to take over – she says I’m too weak. Alan tells Ashley to fight – you’re getting closer to the truth, that’s why the alters are scared. Asked to make a pot of coffee, Traci objects.

Tucker replays Ashley’s call in his head. What’s going on? he mutters to himself, grabs his jacket and leaves his room.

After convincing Traci to go make coffee, Alan orders Ashley to fight for control. ‘She’s gone’ , but Ashley doesn’t know for how long.

Alan pushes Ashley to take the next step. They then re-enact the re-enactment. Tucker wanted to punish you for not loving him the way he wanted you to. This is where we change the narrative – fight back, push through. You’re so strong, so beautiful – Tucker didn’t understand you. I do. I’ll give you everything you want/need. Ashley knows what happened! she confused Martin with Tucker. I knew I could crack the code! Martin’s triumphant – he’s a better therapist than his brother. You’re Martin, Ashley realizes. He covers her mouth to stifle her scream.
