At the ranch, Mike tells Victor that Arabesque has sold off a couple of small companies – maybe raising capital to make a bigger move. What’s new at Jabot? He doesn’t have anything to report because their spies were fired. Victor will find another way in (to Jabot) and can outlast any of the ‘other bastards’.
Jack comes down to find Diane researching their travel plans online. No, he doesn’t need to weigh in – he’s happy anywhere she decides to take him.
At work, Kyle reads a card from Claire. Hoping she wasn’t too harsh at breakfast, she’s sent him a basket of sweets.
Over lunch at the club, Lauren and Nikki compare notes on their romantic evenings. The occasion? Lauren prepares Nikki; Mike’s telling Victor something that will make him ‘furious’ – things could get ugly.
Mike tells Victor that last night was the beginning of some changes he wants to make in his life. Sounds serious, Victor’s curious.
I’m not stealing company secrets, Kyle jokes when his Mom finds him sitting behind Jack’s desk. There to drop off their itinerary (Greece, Italy, France) she’s nervous about leaving for a month. Kyle’s got everything under control – go, have fun. Diane worries about his obsession with Audra and her new company. It will only lead to trouble.
Lauren assures Nikki that Victor won’t take things out on her – though she does worry about Mike.
Mike appreciates everything Victor’s done for him and his family. You’re quitting, Victor surprises (and mildly annoys) Mike by saying that he understands.
Is this about Jack? Yes, Lauren finally convinced Mike to stop working for Victor. OMG – Mike’s quitting!? Nikki’s astounded.
You’ve threatened to walk away many times, Victor points out – you love the law (and skirting the law) How much do you want? There’s nothing you can say or do to change my mind – Mike made a promise to Lauren. I won’t let you do it, Victor barks.
When Jack stops by their table, Lauren tells him that Mike’s resigning. It’ll be hard for him; he sees Victor as a father-figure. Hopefully, there’s a way to end things amicably. With Victor!? Nikki and Jack say in unison.
You don’t fully trust me, Mike gripes – you should find an attorney you CAN trust. Dumas is ready to pounce, Victor believes. Mike knows there will always be a crisis; you thrive on it but it exhausts everyone else. You’re NOT going to leave at this critical junction, Victor isn’t ‘making this harder’, he’s making it IMPOSSIBLE!
If Victor has a hand in this, Kyle must monitor that through Audra. I’ve got this, trust me. Hoping he’s right, Diane reads Claire’s card and can tell that she’s concerned too – listen to her.
