In the middle of the maze, Diane asks what Jack and Nikki are discussing. If you must know… a haughty Nikki’s not worried about Victor (talking to Cane) He can hold his own. The Baldwins arrive with Abby and Chance. Did we miss anything? Oh boy, did you ever, Nikki replies.

On the train, Damian and Devon are on the same page about leaving. Lily refuses – my ex husband’s been leading a double life for six years – he’s lied to the kids. She must know why. Devon doesn’t see the point – you can’t trust anything Cane says.

Mike explains that Dumas insisted they come – they ran into Abby and Chance on the plane. A car picked all four of them up at the airport because the guests are using the private train. Yes, the chateau exists but is off limits, Sally informs. We were told to follow the voices, Mike grumbles – in the dark and on our own – thank God for Chance. Is our host here? Lauren can tell there’s news. Nick doubts they’ll believe it. Brace yourselves, Jack announces that Aristotle Dumas is Cane Ashby.

Victor makes himself perfectly clear – Chancellor is not for sale. If your offer is so ‘tempting’, put your cards on the table and stop wasting my time, he orders Cane.

Cane Ashby!? How can that be? Why did he lure us here? And where is he now? Mike fires off questions. Talking to Victor, Nick adds – my Dad deserves to know the truth. Just your Dad? Billy scoffs – we ALL deserve the truth. Lauren asks how Lily is. In shock – she’s with Devon and Damian. The only person who wasn’t surprised was Victor, Nikki’s ever so proud.

Cane has an impressive portfolio under Arabesque. He’ll give it all to Victor in exchange for Chancellor. Why would he take such a loss? Cane’s ready to begin a life of normalcy in GC. Victor doesn’t like what he’s done to Lily, the daughter of his good friend, Neil. And who’s going to trust you after this?

Devon tries to talk sense into Lily – Cane will do anything to get you on his side. You think I’m just gonna fall for it? Lily balks. Give her some credit, Damian defends her. Cane was the love of your life, Devon thinks he’s coming back to town to pursue Lily.

Cane owes me answers, Lily persists. He doesn’t, Devon disagrees – staying will only encourage him – can we leave? Your ex doesn’t take no for an answer, Damian knows (but has no idea how he acquired his wealth) He was given the two companies to run outright as his own. How does someone lead two entirely different lives for six years?

Victor advises Cane to take his newly found riches and stay away from GC. Cane will find a way to make it up to everyone. You made everyone think you were dead, Victor reminds – You think buying Chancellor will bring you respectability? You used to claim you were a Chancellor. Go after some other company – like Jabot. If Cane goes after Jack’s legacy, Victor would support him.

Nikki’s surprised the Baldwins came since Mike no longer works for Victor. He doesn’t control everyone, Diane points out – especially those who’ve managed to break free of him (Mike grins at her and raises his glass) He goes on to explain that he got a direct call from Dumas asking them to change their minds. What could he want with the two of you? And Chance? Nikki’s perplexed by this ‘curious development’.

Cane chuckles – some things never change (the feud between the Newmans and Abbotts) He won’t go after Jabot – he wants Chancellor, at any price. It’s not for sale, Victor reiterates – ain’t gonna happen, he walks away.
