Billy’s setting the table when Sally returns to their train car (after clearing her head) Did you make a backdoor deal with Cane to steal Chancellor? she wonders.

Seconds after Cane takes a seat on the CL’s patio. Holden appears to say ‘Mr Dumas’.

Though enjoying their food, Nick and Sharon are ‘infuriated’ that they can’t leave or contact anyone. When Lily and Damian join them, Nick would like to hear about his history with Cane.

Mr Novak, we finally meet in person, Cane tells Holden to take a seat. You did great work at Arabesque and for me directly, he adds. Holden promises that no one suspects a thing.

After filling his plate with food, Damian has little info for Nick. He was the one who approached ‘Dumas’ (because he went from nothing to gobbling up companies) Cane probably knew he lied about his experience but Damian was young and hungry. The Cane you know is far different from the Cane we know, Nick concludes.

Holden wonders why Dumas is in GC instead of revealing himself to his guests (and the world) Yes, call-me-Cane’s familiar with this town and has many irons in the fire. Little has changed – yet everything has changed. Cane had to fire Holden to rehire him (which, as instructed, Holden hasn’t told anyone)

Billy can’t make a deal with Cane until he fixes things with Sally. There’s something there you’ll like, he lifts one golden done to reveal french fries. Sally won’t be distracted – if Billy gets Chancellor, she wants to run Abbott Communications.

Sally refuses to be charmed when Billy’s blowing her off. She’s gone all in and doesn’t have a plan B. Chancellor is consuming your every thought – where does that leave Abbott Communications, and me? Billy DOES trust Sally – look beneath your dessert lid. Sally finds herself looking at a note with her name on it.

Damian had very little contact with Cane, we communicated by email and phone. There were no red flags; he was a solid but mysterious boss who paid well. Lily believes Cane has something to hide. Nick wonders why he lived a lie. Sharon wonders if the lie was Cane ever being reformed from the con artist he was.

Yes, Cane’s coming back to live in GC. He needs Holden to be his eyes and ears on the ground – final preparations will be critical. Holden’s happy to be of assistance. Impressed by the properties he’s purchased on Cane’s behalf, the curious Holden’s told to stop asking questions.

Sally reads the note – is this what I think it is? Yes, it’s an agreement that if Billy takes over Chancellor, she’ll be in charge of Abbott Communications. You heard me, you listened, Sally’s touched that Billy has faith in her.
