Dropping by Adam’s office, Vikki updates him on Cole’s condition and appreciates his kind words. Both find it unsettling that they haven’t been able to contact anyone in France.
Amanda asks what a guy like Devon is doing in a maze like this, at this hour.
You know what the hell I’m doing here and you probably know why I’m here, Devon replies. Amanda knows he’s happy with Abby and would never interfere – where is she? Asleep. Cane? He’s also turned in for the night, she lies.
When did you get back in town? It’s been a long time, Chelsea asks Cane what he’s been up to. He lost himself for a while but is back on track and ready to take on the world.
It’s unnerving that Adam and Vikki haven’t been able to reach anyone on Dumas’ guest list but agree they’d have heard if anything bad happened. If Dumas tried to confiscate their phones, Victor wouldn’t have gone for that. What
Amanda insists that Cane only wants to make GC his home base – nothing else is going on. Why isn’t he here to build relationships? Devon points out that he doesn’t even join his guests for dinner. It feels like we’re being manipulated and lied to.
Here to see Lily? Chelsea peppers Cane with questions that he largely avoids by asking about her reuniting with Adam. He’s a changed man, she claims. After talk with the kids, she again asks if he’s here to see Lily. She’s visiting Aristotle Dumas. Yes, Cane knows the man well.
You’ve met Dumas? Chelsea’s surprised – everyone in town’s dying to know what he’s like and what he wants in GC. What has she heard? He invited GC’s power players for an extended vacation and now they’re all incommunicado. How well do you know the guy? Should we be worried? she asks Cane.
You’re getting paranoid, Amanda tells Devon that Cane revealed everything there is to know. He’s different. Sure, he impersonated Philip Chancellor but he had a heart. This set up reeks of something Collin would do; we only have Cane’s word that he’s dead. This isn’t all about Lily, Devon’s sure. If it’s Chancellor, why not just invite Victor and Nikki? Cane’s distracting us, he believes. If that was the case and I knew, why would I tell you? Amanda’s unmoved.
Agreeing that their father is steps ahead of Aristotle Dumas, Adam updates Vikki that Arabesque has been buying up real estate all over town, including the athletic club which wasn’t for sale. Dumas is making moves – but who knows what it’ll mean for them.
You don’t have anything to worry about from Dumas, Cane reassures. But my friends and sons grandparents might? Chelsea balks. Cane wasn’t implying anything and needs to get to the airport. Your questions will be answered soon. Give Adam my best – we’ll get together in a few weeks.
