In the common area of the train, Nick updates Sharon on Adam bringing them news – the Newman family will stand united against Cane.
After he and Sally have a swim, Billy jokes with Jack and Diane about Cane turning up the heat – how long before the whole thing explodes?
When Cane takes a seat, Phyllis says that it must hurt him to see Lily with Damian. Cane confirms that he still loves Lily but that won’t interfere with his plans.
Billy’s not worried that he hasn’t met with Cane yet. Jack would rather he doesn’t invest in Abbott Communications (a company he’s not interested in) Sally and Billy’s guilty expressions make Jack wonder what he’s missing.
Defending his father, Cane claims that no one was hurt by ‘Dumas’. Phyllis points out that everyone’s more than surprised – they’re angry. She has info she shouldn’t tell him but that he needs to hear.
Nick relays telling Phyllis that she needs to pick a side (and that should be theirs) Sharon worries everything he told Phyllis will be reported directly to Cane. That’s why Nick wants her to talk to Phyllis.
Sally coaxes Billy into telling Jack that he wants to help Cane take Chancellor from Victor.
All this cloak and dagger is too much, Phyllis would be burning huge bridges by telling Cane what she knows. Nick told me to pick a side and she has; Cane’s over Nick’s. Is that not enough? Not quite, Cane still has doubts.
Nick appeals to Sharon’s newfound concern about Phyllis. When she agrees to see what she can do, he takes her hand across the table.
Sharon appreciates Nick’s faith in her. He admires her ‘incredible ability’ to cut through all the noise. She’ll do whatever she can. You’re the best, Nick praises.
