Ignoring a frantic Lauren’s advice, Nikki’s ready to sign the paperwork Amanda conveniently provides. She’s signing this under duress, Lauren demands to talk to her friend, alone, NOW.
Having brought Nick to the train and wrapped him in a blanket, Billy, Sally and Sharon have no idea how they’ll get him down the mountain.
Cane can protect Carter but needs the truth – did you kill Damian? Maybe to clear the path for me and Lily? Not now! he barks when the wounded guard wobbles over. The detainees have escaped, the guard reports. Chance and Victor continue to listen.
Victor follows the ‘incompetent’ guard Chance sends to find Nick (if he’s injured he can’t go far) Chance listens to Cane badgering the truth out of his weepy assistant – then appears to quip ‘Looks like you put the wrong person under house arrest’.
Amanda and her tablet will be right around the corner. Lauren tries to talk sense into Nikki, and fails. Nikki will sign AFTER Nick’s released.
While Sally heads out to see if the rail tracks are fixed, Sharon stays to fuss over ‘I’ll-be-fine’ Nick.
Leading Nikki and Lauren to the now empty storage room, Amanda stammers that Nick and Sharon were treated very well. Seeing blood, Nikki demands to know where her son is. If he’s so much as hungry or thirsty, there’ll be hell to pay, Nikki clip clops out with Lauren.
Who the hell did this to you? Victor saunters in to hear that Nick fought with the guard. He’s lost a lot of blood and needs stitches, Sharon adds that Sally did what she could and went to see if the tracks are cleared. Victor rants about everything Cane’s responsible for.
Cane can’t protect Carter – the authorities will deal with him. This was for YOUR sake, Carter flashes back to his perfect crime; removing the obstacle with precision. Wandering in to ask what’s going on, Lily soon finds herself with a gun to her head.
How did all this ‘unfold’? Victor asks. Sharon blathers on about how great Nick was – the guard was on the floor the last time we saw him. Ashby will pay for this, Victor promises.
As Lily whimpers, Carter tells her that Cane only wanted another chance. This is the end of the road, Chance says. The tracks have been clear for days. Carter has no intention of waiting for the police. He’ll look out for himself, the way Cane always does. Don’t follow us, he backs into the maze (with a terrified Lily)
Finding Nikki and Lauren, Billy explains that the blood is Nick’s but he’ll be fine – Sharon and Sally are taking care of him on the train. That’s where Nikki and Lauren are going – while Billy will look for Cane. Instead, he finds Amanda – and gives her an earful about how this is all Cane’s fault – the noose is getting tighter, he leaves her pulling her hair out in frustration.
