In the jazz lounge, Sally puts an end to Audra’s damage control with the news that Abbott Communications is finished before it even got started.

Running into Vikki at Society, Kyle puts her wine on his tab and sits to update that he and Claire aren’t back on track.

This is a surprise; Claire’s delighted to find Holden on the patio. Since his flight to LA was postponed until tomorrow, he now has the whole night to listen (about how things are going with Kyle)

How could this happen? Audra offers to bow out if Jack pulled the funding because of her. No, he pulled funding because Billy told him too. There’s no way to fix this, Sally’s on the verge of tears.

Kyle mopes about the change in his relationship with Claire – the dynamic’s changed between us. It’s all my fault (though he blames Victor as well) He’s stopped interfering but we’re further apart.

Holden can read Claire like a book. Hearing that Klye’s ‘trying too hard’, he thinks some distance might help – how does 2,000 miles sound? Come to LA with me.

Vikki points out that Kyle lied in his attempt to protect Claire – where there’s love there’s hope. Kyle suggested a trip to Paris but Claire doesn’t want to run away from their problems – he’s out of moves. Kyle can’t help but feel that she’s looking for reasons for this not to work.

Holden’s inviting as a friend; he enjoys Claire’s company. She’s disappointed that he wasn’t ‘making a play’ the other night and isn’t ‘uncomfortable’; she’s ‘surprised’. Holden hopes she’ll consider coming to LA.

Sally reports that Billy’s obsessed with getting Chancellor back. I sacrificed my career for him. How was I so stupid? Shocked that Billy would work with Cane, Audra wonders if the relationship is over.

Claire would like to go to Disneyland but going to LA with Holden wouldn’t be the right thing to do. He pledges to support her and Kyle (which means a lot to Claire)

Billy’s doing whatever the hell he wants – I was going to move in with him; I thought we shared a vision. Sally should have seen this coming – he had our story written, literally. I’ve done so much for him – he could have chosen me but didn’t. Concluding that they’re in the same boat (no relationship and no job) Audra doesn’t want to sit and feel sorry for themselves – no man will stop us from doing what we want to do.
