Victor comes home from ‘putting the screws’ to Cane – he’ll do what I want or I’ll destroy him, he tells Nikki.
Cane tells Mike that Victor gave him and offer that he refused. He told me it was a mistake to work for you – was he right? Will you have his back or mine? Cane wonders if Mike’s already jumping ship.
In the jazz lounge, Billy makes a simple toast – to Sally (giving him a chance to show that she’s more important to him than anything else)
At home, Jack and Diane discuss Kyle calling an emergency meeting of Jabot’s IT team and Jack’s plan to work so closely with Victor (to beat Cane) that he won’t get a chance to stab him in the back.
Mike still considers Victor a friend but he feels differently. The only thing that will stop him from doing a good job is not knowing what that job entails. Cane’s not happy to assume that Billy’s still a threat.
Billy continues to win Sally back. He doesn’t want to take his kids’ love for granted either. His eye is off the prize and only on Sally. What now? Billy’s determined to get Jack to restore funding for Abbott Communications. Who’ll be calling the shots, she wonders – you or me?
Massaging Victor, Nikki can feel how tense he is. This fight will go the distance, Victor isn’t worried, he’s surprised that Cane’s more predictable than he thought.
Listing all the companies Cane’s going after, Jack believes Victor will see the logic in his plan (by appealing to his ego) Diane would like details.
Sally wonders if she’ll take a step back to be Billy’s number two. No, he wants her to lead – he’ll take a front row seat to her taking Abbott Communications full steam ahead.
Mike will be better able to constrain Billy if he knows more of the plan. Am I to replace him? Phyllis is one of the few who don’t see me as a villain, what do YOU think? Cane wonders.
Jack wants Diane to trust that he’s doing the right thing. It’s the scorpion and the frog story – we all know what’s in his nature so have to prepare for his sting. He plans to go pitch the idea of working together right now.
Nikki thinks everything Cane does is for an audience of one; Lily. She’s happy at Winters but roses won’t get him what he wants. Cane’s become a master of manipulation (like Collin) but is making a huge mistake by underestimating me (Victor)
Sally still feels off-balance. Billy has room for only one obsession (her) He trusts her to lead; I’ll follow.
Mike knows Phyllis appreciates Cane giving her an opportunity – he’ll be disappointed if Cane’s another person who’ll hurt her. Cane questions Mike’s reason for taking the job.
Victor agrees that Cane’s a wild card – he’ll be harder to take down than I thought. Jill could be the one to put him in his place. Nikki’s surprised when Jack stops by. We’ve been at war forever but it’s time for us to lay down our swords, he claims.
Still in the jazz lounge, Billy can’t believe he almost blew it with Sally. She knows it’s hard for him (a gambler) to walk away from the table – she watched him go all in. And with some more reassurance and a five-second dance, Billy takes Sally upstairs.
If Cane plans to harm the people who own/run these companies, Mike will try to dissuade him. The quest you’re on comes at a cost (usually to the people closest to you) Who do you want to punish? Who do you want to impress?
Knowing any truce with Victor will be short-lived, Jack wants to join forces only long enough to beat Cane (a plan Nikki agrees with)
In their ‘love nest’, Billy and Sally do what one does in a love nest.
Cane’s AI can decimate our companies from the inside. If you’ve made a deal with the devil, it’s a mistake to trust Cane, Jack warns. It’s a mistake to trust YOU, why the hell would Victor do that? Because Jack knows how to beat Cane at his own game.
Cane doesn’t trust Mike enough to share his plan. Mike’s looking out for his best interests – if you hurt all those people, you’ll be so alone. Cane needs allies not a life coach; this isn’t going to work out. I don’t want to compromise your integrity.
Cuddling in bed, Billy’s so glad they’re back on the same page. Her face hidden in his chest, Sally looks troubled.
So, the first time I challenge you, you ask me to walk away? Mike concludes. Appreciating the honesty, Cane’s always respected Mike as a lawyer and now respects him as a man. Full disclosure, since Mike wasn’t able to stop Cane from the inside, he’ll try from the outside. Cane would expect nothing less.
Jack warns Victor that they must treat this as a legitimate threat – if the three of us work together, Cane doesn’t stand a chance. His idea? We need to bring Jill into this – we need to go on the offensive; to sabotage Cane’s empire from the inside.
Next Week: I really love Mike but I don’t know if I can take anymore, Lauren weeps to Nikki … Sally’s on videochat with Jill – I’ve fallen in love with your son and we have a real problem … Maybe you should give this more thought, Sharon suggests. Tessa feels this might be the only way to save her wife and her marriage.
