Invited into the ranch, Jill thinks that Victor and Jack both reaching out regarding Cane indicates that they feel threatened by him. Nikki’s ever so polite – and has something to get off her chest – thank you.
When Victor invites Phyllis to sit with him at Society, it’s all forced smiles and folded arms. Why would you connive with the lowest of the low? he asks.
‘Godsend’ Ester gives Sharon a pep talk – both hoping that Mariah gets the help she needs. Sharon’s glad when Tessa and Daniel arrive at CL’s (before she leaves on her flight) Yes, Tessa (and Daniel) did learn something – and you won’t like it.
Phyllis is giving Cane her abilities and loyalty. It’s not ‘blind loyalty’ – you’re rattled because Cane’s coming for you. Victor knows that Phyllis hasn’t thought about what Cane has planned for Summer and Nick – you’re so desperate, you don’t care.
Nikki will never take for granted what an honour it is to run Chancellor – she thinks of Katherine every day. Jill thanks Nikki for the sweet note she sent after Chance died. Niceties aside, Nikki demands Jill tell her what Cane has planned.
Daniel watches silently as Tessa tells Sharon that the hotel Mariah stayed in was nice – the bartender remembered Mariah. She then worries that Sharon may have been right about this blowing up in her face; she may lose Mariah for good.
Nikki lambastes Jill – her silence makes her complicit in Cane’s plan. Are you really OK with him coming after every major company in GC? Including your precious Chancellor?
Outside, Victor suggests Nick think twice about having breakfast at Society. Making a beeline for Phyllis, Nick tells her that he’s detained in GC to handle this business with him. Looks like he’s the one doing the rattling – and Phyllis thinks it’s awesome.
Nikki and Jill argue over whether Cane’s a decent man. He was your first stop? Ahead of your own son. Billy was there but didn’t want anything to do with me, Jill is sad that she makes him feel the way Katherine made her feel – not good enough. She loved you, Nikki comforts. But, I wasn’t you, Jill chokes up. Then Nikki’s claws come back out.
