Arriving at the GCAC, Tessa and Daniel are disappointed to have missed Danny’s party. She wishes the trip hadn’t been for nothing.

Still in the visitors room, Mariah picks up the two pieces of the Queen of Hearts card Tessa ripped up.

Over champagne at Society, Abby and Devon grumble about Phyllis crashing the party – and Cane (who arrives to overhear his former brother-in-law bashing him)

Phyllis is on her laptop on the CL’s patio. Very dramatically, she taps away – vowing to protect herself at all costs.

Now in the jazz lounge, Daniel wishes he’d called his Dad but wanted to surprise him. Tessa’s sorry. Daniel’s sorry he rushed her here from the airport. Neither have anywhere to be – drinks it is.

Mariah mopes over the screen-saver on her phone and thinks about calling Tessa.

Three people died on your property, including our son’s father, Abby reminds Cane that Chance did all sorts of dangerous missions – but died at YOUR chateau. Devon correctly guesses Cane doesn’t know whether he wants to be a good father or a cutthroat businessman. When Cane promises he won’t attack any companies in GC, Lily appears to call BS.

Cane asks Lily to join him for a drink. No lies. We’ve already talked – despite Devon’s clear disapproval, she reluctantly agrees – but don’t expect anything. That leaves Abby to reassure Devon that his sister won’t let Cane wear her down.

Over drinks, Tessa describes being face to face with Mariah – but, we were a million miles apart. Did she tell you what happened to her at the hotel? Daniel wonders.

Sharon tip toes out of Noah’s room to answer Mariah’s call. How are you? I’m not good, Mom, Mariah admits through tears.

No, Mariah didn’t talk about trying to kill someone – we played a game of Old Maid, Tessa describes her wife as a shell of herself. She worries this place isn’t helping and that Mariah will never be able to move past this.

Mariah tells her Mom that she’ll be in the facility longer than she thought. Sharon’s supportive – do you feel good about the clinic and doctors? Mariah feels her progress is slow and painful; she’s not sure there’s a way out. I feel alone and lost.
