At Society, Chelsea grabs Adam’s phone to see what’s distracting him. According to this weeks’ Business Journal, Arabesque has imploded; divisions are rapidly being sold off. It’s exactly what Cane deserves, Adam concludes. Lily appears to disagree – Cane does NOT deserve what the Newmans have done to him.
Seated at the club, Phyllis is enjoying wine from Cane’s own reserve. He’s enjoying her company – does it need to be more than that? Yes, she knows something happened – and would like to know what.
Have I told you how lovely you look tonight? Yes – three times, Phyllis loves to hear that Cane’s ‘attracted’ to her but doesn’t trust that he won’t change his mind (re: Lily) Cane won’t change his mind. Again, Phyllis doesn’t believe it – what or who do you have in your rear-view mirror?
Claire and Holden collide, then laugh and hug (at CL’s)
Claire’s very busy with work – but stops Holden from leaving; we need to talk about what happened in LA.
It’s so easy to point the finger, isn’t it? Lily scolds. People died in Nice, my brother could have died! Adam reminds. Yeah, Lily knows – ‘I was there’. And, we all know Victor stole Cane’s AI. Chelsea agrees with Adam, that Cane brought this on himself. Why would you believe and defend Cane? she wonders what’s changed for Lily.
Knowing that Lily rejected Cane and that he wants to prove himself to her, Phyllis thinks the identities of Dumas and Cane became blurred to the point that he doesn’t know who he is anymore.
Claire likes Holden too much for there to be weirdness between them. Wanting to be open and honest, she has no regrets about what happened on Halloween night but isn’t sure it’ll happen again.
Lily’s NOT Cane’s ‘cheerleader’. You’re not reporting the news, you’re weaponizing it. She’s still mad at Cane but has softened a bit because he’s trying to make things up to the kids. How can our family heal when Cane’s dealing with relentless attacks. What happens to Cane next is up to him, and what HIS intentions are, Adam claims.
On his deathbed, Collin told me to tell Lily and the kids the truth, Cane admits he was selfish and arrogant. I should have been honest with them. Phyllis likes the vision Dumas had – his ‘go for broke’ attitude. That’s too bad – because Cane’s burying him forever.
Claire isn’t ready for a serious relationship. Holden’s disappointed, but respects that. Listing everything he enjoys about Claire but, he feels she’s pulling back because of what he told her (about him and Audra) Claire’s not convinced that Holden regrets what he did with Audra.
If Cane believes we stole his program, we must be in his cross-hairs, Adam adds that he’ll probably sue Newman Media. Lily wants a truce for her kids’ sake – ask your Dad to back off so my family can heal. Chelsea thinks she should be asking Cane to stop the war HE started.
