Managing to get in after visiting hours, Adam reports to Nick that Jack and Kyle grabbed Matt and tried to trade him for the AI program. Before Dad could answer, all hell broke out at Newman.
On the train, Victor knows Phyllis and Cane are behind the attack on his family – you don’t know who you’re messing with, he warns.
Ending a call, Vikki updates her Mom that while Cane’s AI is wreaking havoc, someone leaked to the press the counter measures they’re taking. Nikki blames Victor – I begged him to destroy the software. His vendetta against Jack might cost us everything.
What makes you think we’re behind it? Cane offers half-hearted denial – but Phyllis can’t take credit fast enough. NE is ours; there’s nothing you can do about it. Victor’s smile is more of a grimace.
How did Jack get Matt? Nick’s surprised to hear that the Abbotts were having the Newmans followed and that Matt’s not behind bars. And what could be more important to Dad? Cane’s AI program is attacking Newman right now, Adam answers – we could lose everything.
Our best people are on this, and Vikki has confidence that her Daddy will intimidate Cane into reversing his program. Nikki’s not so sure – Cane’s not easily intimidated. It’s possible TGVN has finally met his match.
Phyllis has been waiting for this for a very long time. I should have known you’d screw me over. Near tears, she knows she was never good enough for the ‘elite’ Newman family (even though she’s the mother of Victor’s beloved granddaughter) Ignoring Phyllis, Victor asks Cane what he wants; he can restore Arabesque. Cane echoes Phyllis – NE is ours and there’s not a damn thing you can do about it.
It’s not Cane or Phyllis, it’s Cane AND Phyllis, Adam tells Nick that Dad’s gone to confront them right now. Yes, Jack has Matt in a secure place (but is threatening to release him if we don’t hand over the AI program) Dad’s guys are watching and will catch Matt if he’s freed.
Bringing out some tea, Sharon doubts Matt got far; he might even be dead. Noah can’t relax until he knows for sure. Tessa drops by to ask how Nick is, and Sienna. Sienna?? How do you know her!? Sharon asks.
When Claire arrives, Nikki tells her that NE is under attack – our family’s company may not survive it.
What’s your price? Victor asks. Cane doesn’t have a price – you tarnished my father’s name by publishing lies. He did that by himself, Victor warns that Cane and Phyllis will regret this to their dying day. Phyllis won’t negotiate – you lost, we win. But, she does look concerned when Victor predicts that Summer won’t be proud of her mother; she’ll loath you.
Cane’s AI is selling off assets and divisions, Vikki tells Claire. Your grandfather planned to use it against Jabot, she and Nikki suspect. Jabot hasn’t been infected, NE has, Nikki adds that Cane and Phyllis are likely behind it. How can I help? Claire asks.
