Chelsea joins Adam (at the club) to babble excitedly about Connor’s school project. Full disclosure – this isn’t the romantic evening I had planned, Adam admits – ‘it all went to hell today’.
What’s all this? Sally looks around at all the candles and flowers. It’s Valentines Day, Billy grins.
The Abbott dining room is also set for romance. Diane opens her card and reads the touching words inside. Will you be my Valentine? Jack appears to ask.
Audra joins Kyle at Society’s bar – you can sit all alone and pathetic – or you can buy a lady a drink. She orders a Whiskey Sour before Kyle answers.
Sienna meets Noah at the rooftop restaurant in LA. Everyone’s safe, he updates; my Mom told me to follow my heart – she knows I’m in love with you. Not smiling, Sienna reminds Noah that she asked him not to follow her – it’s the last thing she wanted.
Martini’s, a rose, a card with the words Jack recited at their wedding. Impressed, Diane loves him too – but can’t stay silent about Nikki taking advantage of him. Putting that aside, Jack wants this evening to be a celebration of his brilliant wife. To us, they clink glasses.
Adam reports that Cane agreed to give Newman back in exchange for Lily and the kids – but things went sideways; Phyllis chloroformed the bastard and transferred everything to herself – Billy gets Chancellor and Newman Media.
Wanting the ambience to be perfect, Billy got Sally’s favourite flowers and champagne. Still salty about him bailing on AC again, she can’t just pretend everything’s OK. Billy wants to do just that, for this evening at least. Whaddaya say? he pours.
Noah recites a line from Sienna’s letter – I love you more than you can know. She loves him too – but ‘that doesn’t mean we have a future’.
Noah wants to stay in LA and run the club with Sienna. She feels weird and unsettled – like a stranger in her own life. Where do I belong?
What Billy and Phyllis did is insane and illegal, Chelsea’s now all in on helping Victor. That woman (Phyllis) will NOT best the Newmans, she vows. Agreeing to put business aside for the evening, Chelsea pulls a card out of her purse. Adam did ge them a table – it’s even got a candle on it. Send the champagne over, he instructs the bartender.
As Billy pours himself a glass of bubbly, Sally puts hers down – she can’t pretend everything’s OK. You think I’m manipulating you? he balks. Maybe you can compartmentalize better than I can, she refuses to be swept off her feet by Billy’s sweetness. You sparked a dream in me and now you want to take it away.
You ARE lousy company, Audra can see why Kyle’s alone on Valentine’s Day. You always seem to be drinking alone, she adds that maybe ‘your sweet little Claire’ is having Vespers tonight with Holden. Oh? You didn’t know? They went back to LA – it must be their happy place.
Jack wants to focus on what they’re grateful for – my father’s legacy was saved. John would be proud, Diane clinks his glass.
Audra doesn’t give a damn that Claire’s with Holden. You should give a damn that she’s digging into your past, Kyle’s sure she’ll find out the truth and blow Audra out of the water once and for all.
Chelsea found a bunch of Valentine’s cards that Connor wrote out for a girl named Adel that he has a crush on (which he tore up and threw out) Our little boy’s growing up. Hopefully he’s ready for it.
A lot has changed for Sienna; the man she married turned out to be a monster. She’s reminded of Matt everywhere she goes – good and bad memories – my life was a lie. She went to the art house theatre she met Noah at – when he sat beside her that day, she realized how alone she felt. You changed everything. I didn’t think I’d miss you this much, she admits emotionally. I can fix everything, Noah takes her hand and promises to fill Sienna’s head and heart with new memories. Come back to GC with me – let’s start a new life there.
