At Society, Nate’s on the phone with Devon (who’s very worried about Lily and the twins but agrees to discuss it further in the morning) Vikki arrives to thank Nate for meeting her. Unfortunately, her plan has changed.
At the revolving door, Jack (the ‘blithering idiot’) needles Victor about what he’s been doing with himself. How’s retirement? he mocks.
Tessa’s moved to tears as she watches (and listens to) Daniel strumming his guitar.
When Nikki arrives, Jack greets her politely, and with another jab at Victor, mosey’s off to the bar. Nikki was relieved to finally hear from Victor – where have you been all day?
Tessa applauds Daniel then joins him to say that she likes his song – maybe we can work on it together.
Over drinks at the club’s bar, Diane and Jack chuckle about the fall of the House of Newman. Karma is alive and well. Victor’s days of abusing power are over, they clink glasses. Looking over at the Newmans, Diane wonders why Victor and Nikki are clinking their glasses – seeing Victor so smug worries her.
Victor had things to attend to. Like Phyllis? Nikki wants answers. He’s doing everything he can to get their companies back.
Victoria’s plan is simple – Daniel and Summer are furious with their mother. Nate thinks it harsh of her to weaponize Summer’s anger – so, what’s the snag? Nick won’t go to Milan; he wants time to think about it. He doesn’t want to put Summer in the middle, but if it saves Newman, won’t it be worth it? Victoria’s fired up. Nate has a question he hopes she doesn’t take the wrong way…..
Victoria won’t give up until NE is back where it belongs. Nate wants this to work out – but, if things don’t go according to plan, what are your other options? Have you considered what you’ll do if you can’t beat Phyllis?
Victor doesn’t see Phyllis as a problem. Trust me. He gave Cane some incentives to make things right. What incentives? Nikki asks. Lily and the kids are alright, Victor assures – she knows exactly what’s going on – don’t worry about a thing. The Newmans clink glasses again.
Diane and Jack don’t get it – has Victor figured out a way to save his legacy???
Back on the patio, Tessa tells Daniel that Sharon let it slip that she’s filing for divorce. How did Mariah take it? Daniel asks. She was fine with it – she thinks I should get on with my life with Aria. She wanted me to go, so I left. In need of a distraction, Tessa’s offer to help with Daniel’s song is accepted. After a few notes, she gushes – we make a really good team. Enter Hurricane Phyllis – Daniel Romalotti JR!! I will never, ever forgive you for this!! she bellows.
Jack’s enjoying watching Victor’s fall – by the same means he planned to destroy us (though he does worry about Nikki) Let’s enjoy this moment. Diane can’t help but be suspicious. It’s for appearances, Jack’s sure. As he looks over, Victor raises his glass and smirks. And, when Jack excuses himself to take a business call, Diane follows Nikki to the ladies room.
