At the club, Danny signs autographs and takes selfies with his fans as Chris arrives to join her rock star husband. She’s ready to skip breakfast and go straight to a Bloody Mary (because Mariah won’t take the plea deal)

Sitting with Mariah on the patio, Sharon thinks it a good sign that Tessa wants to meet/talk. Tessa can’t change my mind – I deserve to be punished, Mariah’s adamant.

Drinking and playing Black Jack, Nick looks bored/tipsy as he keeps winning. He tells the dealer that if his lucky streak continues, he’ll go home soon having done what he needed to do.

‘Hands behind your head’, Risa orders Adam to turn around. Seriously? I’m an old friend. Now! she orders. Adam complies.

Chris tells Danny that Mariah believes that probation and treatment is too lenient – she could go to prison for years. Danny’s been asked to perform at a private event in Barcelona – we take off after the hearing tomorrow. Chris can’t, regardless of whether Mariah accepts the deal.

Mariah wishes everyone would stop trying to help her – I don’t deserve it. Sharon encourages her to talk to Tessa. I’m going to prison, there’s nothing to ‘work out’ and Mariah’s fine with that – Tessa and Aria need to move on. Maybe she should meet Tessa so she can tell her it’s over. ‘When and where?’, she replies to Tessa.

Sloppily pulling his pile of chips in, Nick excuses himself to take a call from Noah. No, it’s not a bad time. We haven’t found Matt but Adam’s made the appropriate connection, he reports.

‘Face the desk’, Risa orders as she pats Adam down. This is overkill – he doesn’t have a gun and isn’t wearing a wire. Trust me now? Not yet.

It’s killing Chris to say ‘no’. Danny will try to have the event postponed. No, go – it’ll be easier for her to focus with him gone. They’re kissing when Daniel arrives to mope – he’s happy to see a relationship working out for someone. Sit and tell us what’s going on, Danny invites.

Tessa replies – she wants to meet at the park cafe. What do I say? Mariah panics. Don’t say anything, just listen, to Tessa and your heart, Sharon advises. After Mariah leaves, Chelsea tells Sharon ‘it never ends’. She’s also on edge because she hasn’t heard from Adam.

As Adam pours them both a drink, Risa comments that Spyder was ‘wicked smart’ and a fast learner. She’s glad she met him when she did – ‘my greatest protege’. Adam wants back in the game.

We just checked in, the wheels are in motion. Nick tells Noah not to fly to Vegas. Matt’s sending texts making it sound like he’s close, Noah worries he has a plan; if you and Adam don’t find him soon, someone will get hurt.

Nick promises to put an end to Matt, soon. You OK? Noah worries. You don’t sound like yourself. Nick’s just mad and frustrated. Hanging up, he sits back down at the table to tell the dealer ‘let’s dance’.

Risa figures Adam’s time in Vegas was in the rearview. Yes, she heard about the downfall of the Newmans. My family was cheated by an insidious AI program, Adam informs. He wants back in the game – or have you branched out. She’ll tell him, over lunch.

You win some, you lose some – Nick’s lost all his chips and is thirsty. Adam texts to say that Risa wants room service – this could take a while. I’m out, that’s for you, he gives the dealer his last few chips. Almost toppling over, he assures her that he just stood up too soon.

I’m fine, Daniel sits to claim that there’s nothing going on between him and Tessa – not anymore. No, she didn’t break things off – I did. Tessa belongs with her wife. He hopes she’s convincing Mariah to give things another chance. He won’t stand in their way.

Looking awkward, Mariah and Tessa take a seat at the park cafe. Both were surprised to receive messages from one another. This was a mistake, Mariah’s ready to bolt. We need to end this, for your sake and Aria’s. You can’t possibly think there’s anything left to work through. Tessa claims that if even a small part of Mariah’s not ready to give up, she owes it to them both to at least be honest about it.

No, Tessa didn’t say she wanted to give Mariah another chance – he could see the hope in her eyes. He did what he had to do and hopes Tessa can do the same.
