99.9% of today’s episode focuses on Nick’s dream.
The pros: The great acting and flashbacks make it watch-worthy. From a blogger’s perspective – I didn’t type out half a recap before realizing it was a dream (black and white is a good indicator)
The cons: (Again) from a bloggers perspective, why spend time and energy recapping scenes that aren’t real and don’t progress the story-line? It would be challenging to be descriptive yet concise.
But, if you’re bored, here it is….
Flopping onto a bed in a seedy motel room, Nick ignores texts from Sharon and Victoria and starts dreaming as soon as his eyes close…
Rise and shine, Matt welcomes Nick to his new life. Screw you! Nick scowls. You mean ‘thank you’, Matt corrects.
His leg causally propped up on a table, Matt accuses Nick of planning to kill him. Then a flashback within a dream. You asked your brother to watch your kid so you can dive into the abyss, Matt says.
Matt’s driving Nick to ‘the dark side of the moon’. In the Shadow Room, they find Sharon all strung out. Mariah appears to blast him. No, I’m Cassie – did my death mean nothing to you!? Flashback to Cassie dying.
‘Cassie’ blasts Nick. Sharon notices Matt; the host of this magical mystery tour. Cassie slaps him. Nick’s getting Sharon out of there.
Nick’s now driving Sharon around when Adam suddenly lunges from the back seat to strangle him.
At the ranch, Adam and Chelsea shout at Nick. What did I do!??? You killed our son!!! Chelsea shrieks.
Connor went to visit Christian and OD’d on your Fentanyl. Nick’s so sorry. What happened to you? How did you fall so far, so fast!? Adam piles on. They’re going to take/save Christian. Nick blames Matt and goes out for some air.
Back at the Shadow Room, Nick finds everyone strung out. His dealer’s there. One more time can’t hurt. Nick’s about to take the pills when Nikki appears – you’re breaking my heart!
Nikki blasts Nick for lying to her; not turning to her for help. I’m ashamed of you! Your father and I have separated because he blames me. When Victor appears, Nikki orders a double vodka from bartender-Matt.
Nick returns to his motel room to look at himself in the mirror and fight back tears. In bed, he remembers all he’s been through that night (now in colour as opposed to black and white)
This can’t be the way it ends, Nick whimpers. It doesn’t have to be the end, Victoria appears with soothing words – you’re always saving everyone. I don’t want this, Nick cries. I want my life back.
Nick’s awakened from his dream by a loud knock at the door – is everyone OK in there? Open up!!
Nick reads a text from Adam, then Noah checking in from LA. Then Christian (who wishes his Dad was there to watch Spinal Tap for the hundredth time)
The knocking and shouting continues. Nick opens the door. A woman asks if he’s OK. I don’t know you, Nick’s unfriendly. Not yet, I’m in the room next door – I heard you crying out, the woman adds – sounds like you’re in pain. Do you have any stuff to share? she asks.
