Victor accosts Vikki as she’s about to leave Society – the acquisition is going smoothly, she reports – too smoothly. She’s visibly disappointed that her Father finds Adam’s choice of COO ‘interesting’.

At the office, Sally’s also disappointed. Adam likes her idea but the idea she’s running by him is too simplistic – this merger isn’t going to be as easy as you think.

It’s late enough by the time Billy comes down that Lily’s been working for a couple of hours already. Billy’s no slacker – he woke up last night at 2 to record more ‘genius’ ‘free association brain waves’ then went back to bed at 4. He’s all smiles, Lily’s not.

Ashland’s summoned Nate to CL’s and ordered his favourite drink. Nate half-heartedly grumbles about all the rules and regulations at the hospital – he could use Ashland’s help to clear the red tape. I wouldn’t last two days – Ashland dispises red tape.

At TGP, Phyllis tells Amanda that she’s staying in GC. Is the reason why standing right over there? Amanda looks over at Jack (who’s busy on his phone)

Phyllis tells Amanda that a relationship with Jack wouldn’t work. Unconvinced, Amanda won’t try to change her mind (Jack’s still on the phone)

Ashland won’t let Nate off the hook – he hates seeing him so frustrated at work; come to Newman Locke. Apparently, Newman has health divisions he wants to combine with tech. He just needs the right leadership. Ashland wants Nate to be able to help more people, globally – the way you helped me.

Now seated, Vikki can’t figure her Father out these days – one minute you’re furious at Adam for not spotting Billy’s ruse – the next you make the sale of Newman Media contingent upon Adam being left in charge. He’s made mistakes, Victor admits – but he’s done a good job as CEO of Newman Media.

Adam wants to put a pin in Sally’s subscription idea; it’s not the right time to expand. You’re wrong, Sally wants to ‘put the numbers’ in front of Adam. He suggests they finish this conversation over breakfast, in a public place (as they edge closer and appear ready to rip one another’s clothes off)

When Sally arrives at Society with Adam, Vikki congratulates her on her new title. Adam and Sally are there to discuss ideas. Vikki claims that she and Ashland would love to have a meeting with the over-eager Sally; who says ‘no time like the present’ After Vikki nopes her way out, Sally gushes to Victor about how great a boss Adam is – he brings out the best in his employees; challenging their ideas but standing back to let them spread their wings. After Sally goes to take a seat at the bar, Victor opines that Sally’s good for Adam; who then sings her praises before excusing himself to his ‘asset’ at the bar. Victor narrows his eyes as he watches watch the pair.

Vikki joins Ashland and Nate at CL’s. Hearing that Ashland’s again asked Nate to come work for them, Vikki doesn’t think so. You’re supposed to be on my side, Ashland reminds her.

Not to toot his own horn but Billy continues to toot his own horn. Lily isn’t quite as impressed with his ‘late-night musings’.
