Publish Ashland deceit? What about Vikki’s self-esteem? Victor reminds that it took her a long time to trust after JT. We have to find another way to deal with this. Murder’s out of the question? Adam quips. Victor hopes Nick can get through to Vikki.

Mike’s evidence is damning, Vikki admits. How does that make her feel? Scared. No, not of Ashland – scared to think he’d do this to her. If this is true… Then what? Nick asks. Ashland appears in the doorway to groan – you Newmans are relentless.

Ending a call, Lauren updates Chloe and Chelsea that Kevin and Rey are looking into Mike’s whereabouts. She should have talked him out of working for Victor. I knew it’d be trouble, she feels helpless. I need to go to Peru.

Chloe abd Chelsea talks Lauren out of going to Peru – Mike’s a survivor; he’ll get himself out of this. Lauren’s soon chuckling – he never admits he’s wrong.

Ashland should have guessed Nick would be next on the ‘let’s-turn-Vikki-against-her-husband’ bandwagon. We’re relentless when it comes to protecting our own, Nick won’t let anyone hurt his sister. Call if you need me, he leaves Ashland to ask Vikki if she’s OK, then looks puzzled when she lunges into his arms. Watching from the hallway, Nick gets a call from his Dad. He was making ground until Ashland showed up. Back at Newman Media, Adam’s alarmed to hear that Ashland’s now officially Co-CEO – when did THAT happen?!

Hearing that Ashland signed the contract yesterday, Adam, as CEO of Newman Media, feels he should have been Victor’s first call, NOT Nick. Surprised with how calm and cool his Father is, Adam has to ask – are the accusations against Ashland legitimate???

Back at CL’s, Sharon declares resolving the various ‘Daddy issues’ surrounding Victor a ‘fools’ errand’. Sally’s up for the challenge and wants to help Adam. Sharon admires her honesty and has to admit that she might be good for Adam. Victor loves to keep him guessing where he stands. Adam needs two things; love from and harmony with his Father. He doesn’t see himself as Victor’s equal; Sally’s trying to break him of that. When Nick arrives, Sally thanks Sharon for the chat and leaves. What was that about? Nick asks.

Nate should have detected something was off – I was actually helping Ashland accurately portray his symptoms while he was supposedly undergoing chemo. You couldn’t have known, Elena won’t let Nate blame himself – who would think to question his terminal cancer prognosis. Continuing to question his judgment (or lack thereof) Nate second-guesses giving Vikki news that will destroy her – and what else is Ashland capable of??

Eavesdropping on the patio, Sally pops in to tell Lauren that Victor has people actively searching for Mike in Peru. Lauren’s not reassured. Thanks to Sally she now knows that Victor was lying when he said Mike was fine.

After Lauren hurries out to tell Kevin what she just learned about Victor, Sally’s left to apologize for upsetting her. She misses her friendship with Chloe and hopes to hit the reset button with Chelsea since they won’t be in daily contact anymore. Chelsea seems agreeable to that.

Sharon explains that Sally was looking for insight into the Adam-Victor dynamic. As for Vikki, she understands why she’s reluctant to accept the evidence against Ashland. If she doesn’t accept it, the family will have to come up with a way to get rid of him, Nick confides.

Could it be true? Adam wonders aloud to his Father – was all this was part of your master plan to regain control of Newman Locke? Nate hopes he’s not interrupting but has the smoking gun they were looking for. Victor and Adam both stand, clearly interested.
