The Newmans have all agreed that it’s not the right time to tell Johnny when Nick races in to say that Chance is on his way. He’s uncovered new information. His demeanor? Somber. Seconds later, Chance arrives – ‘This isn’t a conversation – please listen to what I have to say’.

Chance lays out his evidence – the security footage – the cigarette smoking driver – the ring – a bloody fingerprint found in the car – the blood is Ashland’s, the print is not. It’ll match that of Victor’s security guy, he expects.

Lily feels I’m spending too much time on the podcast, Billy confides. You’re not a corporate guy – you take chances, like me, Chelsea thinks he should quit the corporate world and be ‘podcast Billy’. She knew all along that he was The Grinning Soul. That’s how well I know you.

What Diane wants is happiness, health, peace. That sounds like a pageant answer, Jack encourages her to dig deeper. Where do you think this is going? he catches her off-guard.

Nick can’t go on like this … Chance interrupts; don’t say anything without a lawyer present. Victor plays the family card – you’re my son-in-law. Chance again asks the Newmans to just listen.

Chance spells out two scenarios – Ashland stumbles to his car and crashes into a ravine. He has more evidence for scenario two – Nick accidentally killed Ashland and Victor’s men staged the car ‘accident’. Which scenario will you pursue? Victor asks.

Yes, Chelsea knew Billy was The Grinning Soul when she praised him earlier. You’re secretly hoping Lily forces you to decide between being a podcaster and a COO.

Jack sees no reason to ‘mess around’- what are you hoping for? Diane admits that her feelings go beyond friendship. She feels like a schoolgirl; it’s thrilling and terrifying. Jack didn’t see this coming but he too has some feelings ~kiss~ Diane? Diane? (thank God it’s just a fantasy)

Where did you drift off to? Jack repeats his question – what do you want? You can’t live at the GCAC forever – what’s next for Diane Jenkins? She hasn’t given it much thought. If you plan too much for the future you don’t have a chance to dream.

Chance believes that Nick accidentally killed Ashland while he was protecting his sister. A despicable man is dead; he’s put the family through enough. Chance has decided to go with scenario number one – no one will be punished.

On their way out, Billy thanks Chelsea for giving him a lot to think about. She doesn’t mean to be pushy but please try to convince Vikki to tell Johnny that Connor’s his brother.

The Newmans are relieved. Chance didn’t come to this decision lightly. Victor saying ‘we do what we must to protect the ones we love’ stuck with him. We found a different sort of justice tonight – I need to believe that. You did the right thing, Victor mumbles. Nick shakes his hand. Walking Chance out, Vikki vows ‘this won’t be forgotten. If there’s anything we can do …’ Chance will stop her right there – that’s not why I did this. I hope you can find peace now, he abruptly marches out.

Jack’s surprised Kyle and Summer aren’t back yet. That reminds Diane that she should be leaving. I was just a bit light-headed. I’m fine, she declines his offer of a drive home. It’s nice to know you care, she leaves Jack to reflect on that.

Billy will talk to Vikki but thinks she needs a bit of space. I’ll let you know. Chelsea all but drools as she watches him leave.

Nick fears they’ve compromised the most moralistic man in the city. He didn’t have enough evidence and didn’t want to lose, Victor disagrees. Nikki thinks Nick should be proud of saving his sister. Giving Vikki a hug, Nick leaves on the verge of tears. His family is left to worry.

At Society, a drink in his hand, Chance looks furious; every bit the compromised man his in-laws have made him.

Next week; Chelsea denies she’s falling for Billy. Give me more credit than that. I know what I saw, Chloe disagrees. No, you know what you THINK you saw …. Let’s be bold, Mom, Vikki says. What do you have in mind? Nikki asks… Adam! Kevin bangs on the door to a suite at TGP. Open! The! Door! he orders. Inside, Adam looks trapped.

My Thoughts; Diane’s drink went ‘straight to her head’ because she didn’t have enough to eat today? She and Jack just came from having dinner … Victor has a lot of nerve – calling Chance’s scenario (which is exactly what happened) ‘ridiculous’. No wonder his son-in-law is staring daggers into a far-off spot on Society’s wall. He just made himself an accessory to Victor’s obstruction of justice. He also let at least two of his security team off the hook too. Not sure about the U.S. but in Canada committing an indignity to a dead human body is a criminal offense. This decision will eat Chance alive. Hopefully, he’s still undergoing therapy. Perhaps he should have picked another bar to sulk at … Clearly Chelsea hasn’t changed all that much or forgotten her grifter tricks. Billy blindly listens to her because she’s telling him what he wants to hear. He’s being conned. If Chelsea’s so concerned about Connor maybe she should go home and spend some time with him instead of using him (and Johnny) as a means to entrap Billy. Also, Vikki knows Johnny doesn’t need a brother because the one he already has is never, ever mentioned (Reed)
