After dinner, Diane and Jack come down from peeking in on their sleeping grandson. She’s delighted when he invites her to stay for a nightcap; a lovely way to end a lovely evening, she looks smitten.

At the ranch, Vikki reports back to her parents that Chance is conflicted. Victor hopes she made a strong argument for dropping this ridiculous investigation. There’s been new developments in the case, Chance would like to meet with Nick, his sister and Father to discuss how things will proceed. They’re together at the ranch right now, Nick wants to get it over with.
Over drinks, Diane recalls a memory of Kyle that Jack can’t share. Oh right, she’s sorry she deprived him of those first few years. Kyle missed out on Harrison’s first years, she adds. Jack doesn’t hold a grudge and hopes Diane doesn’t either. She lists all the great things in her new life. It’s unreal. Amazing, Jack agrees – but wonders what she really wants.
