The paparazzi vie for the attention of Nick/Sally and Adam/Sharon – until they agree to pose together. Jack and Diane hit the red carpet next, followed by Leanna Love. Full of herself, she disses Diane and sidles up to Jack.
Billy’s downstairs in a crimson tux – when Chelsea comes down to admit that she might not be ready to be his date for the gala.
The top tier guests aren’t thrilled to see you, Diane tells Leanna. Pish posh – I might get another book out of this. Aside, Jack and Diane hide the ring and decide to postpone their engagement. In the wings, Phyllis watches.
Inside, Mike assures Nikki that Lauren’s on her way. Sally and Nick chat with Vikki (who tells her not to hide her pregnancy) You’ve got this, Nick agrees. Nikki comes along for praise on the decor. If you think this room looks good, just you wait, she teases of things to come. Sally loves surprises. Nikki rolls her eyes.
Neither Ashley nor Tucker to hear what Victor thinks of them being together. Sell your company to me, he crows when hearing that Tucker’s making a deal with Devon. Are you? he goes to say hello to Jill.
Adam/Sharon and Nick/Sally again find themselves exchanging awkward conversation. Adam just might use that photo of them for his Christmas card.
At Traci’s side, Mamie peers through her mask – she recognizes so many faces.
Billy’s fine chillin’ at Chelsea’s. She changes her mind – it’s best she put on a fancy dress and face her fears.
Devon and Abby notice Victor chatting with Jill – does he know that she’s changed her mind on the IPO?
Maime and Jill exchange unpleasantries. We’ve aged gracefully, Jill wants to let bygones be bygones. I don’t think so. Maime strolls off.
Escorting Lauren inside, Mike and Nikki ask for everyone’s attention. Please make your way to the lounge – we have a special surprise for you.
Letting himself into a suite at the GCAC, Jeremy unpacks his backpack. He sends a text from a flip-phone – tonight this all ends for good. Reading the text, Phyllis goes to cry to Daniel – she wishes him the best. He’s a good man, she tells Lily, then hurries away. Daniel’s so sorry – his Mom wants him to worry about her.
Jack introduces Maime to Kyle and Summer (in case they don’t remember her) You and his Mother raised him sell, Maime comments. After Jake takes Diane and Maime to the lounge, Phyllis repeats her teary act. No matter what happens, I’m proud of you. With a hug, she leaves Traci and Summer to wonder why she’s behaving so strangely.
In the lounge, Nikki thanks all for coming. Victor adds some humour as Phyllis watches from the shadows. Chancellor Park was named after Kay – Victor invites Abby up to make a presentation. All applaud as she reveals a large wall mounted portrait of Neil – the Neil Winters Jazz Lounge is now open. Devon hugs Abby and thanks Victor and Nikki. As Phyllis slinks off with her mask in place, the Newmans four pose for a photo with Devon. Asked to join them, Lily also thanks Victor (who knows Neil would want them to make amends)
Jill admires the space. Did Victor have anything to do with you changing your mind on the IPO? Devon’s then told that Victor’s one of his favourite supporters.
Nate gives his Aunt Maime a hug. She wants to get together with him and Lily before she leaves town. She then leaves Lily and Nate to make small talk – both wish Neil could have seen this place. When he again tries to reunite Lily and Devon, he’s left to be saved from Audra (by Vikki)
Ashley’s about to give Leanna a piece of her mind when Miame and Victor intercede. No, she wasn’t invited – but I don’t need to be. Jill comes along to send Leanna scurrying off. She then tells Victor that Victor suspects he’s responsible for her change of heart. This is all part of your plan, she guesses.
Lily again asks Devon if they can fix this – we were so close.
Still at CL’s, Chelsea decides to throw caution to the wind. Screw my insecurities. I’m ready for this, she tells Billy.
Nate and Vikki raise a glass to Victor creating a jazz club in Neil’s name. No, she didn’t know. It meant a lot to Lily and Devon, Nate does indeed care about his cousins – he wants his family to find peace. Elena’s not happy to arrive to see them looking close. Vikki’s not wasting any time, Audra sidles up to comment.
Jeremy lets Phyllis into the suite at the GCAC. We need to be discreet. What are you doing up here? she asks. You’re not having second thoughts, are you? he’s got everything in please. Now, it’s time to get Diane up here for the final stage.
Downstairs, Diane and Jack agree not to steal everyone’s thunder by announcing their engagement. Ours is the perfect love story. We’re about to become Mr and Mrs Jack Abbott ~kiss~
