In her office, Nikki swears Audra to secrecy. The man who just left was her sponsor. She worries that her rejection will make his spiral. When Audra offers to help in any way, Nikki’s touched and appreciates her concern. Getting an out-of-the-blue text (from Jack) she thinks she knows what it’s about.
Diane won’t break Jack’s trust or add to what Nikki’s going through. She’s going to have breakfast with Kyle anyway. Now alone with Jack, Nikki immediately guesses that Lauren told him everything.
In the dining room, Tucker wants to talk about ‘us’. There is no ‘us’ – Audra just wants to stay away from all his drama (specifically, Ashley)
Meeting Kyle at Society, Diane’s working on Jack (re promoting Kyle) now OK with being Jabot’s COO. Dad’s right – I need humility. He does have an idea who should get the job – you (Diane)
Nikki’s not mad at Lauren and appreciates Jack’s offer to be her sponsor. You can beat this – I can be your punching bag, your sounding board; the one you call.
Any hint of Ashley and you’re compromised – you didn’t think she’d release the scandal. You don’t really know her – she’s an ideal to you but not the one you should be with. And who should I be with? Tucker asks.
Diane doesn’t have enough experience to be co-CEO – and the optics wouldn’t look good. KYLE should be working alongside his father. We’re stronger when we’re united. He suspects Jack has concerns about him almost throwing in with Tucker. On cue, Jack arrives.
Despite their business and sexual relationship, Audra like to believe she has a shred of humanity – and won’t let Tucker take that. Who should Tucker be with – Audra believes Tucker’s fate is to be utterly alone.
Nikki calls Lauren – we need to talk.
Joining Kyle and Diane at Society, Jack believes he’s found his co-CEO. Before you say anything, Kyle would like to recommend his Mom. How did you know? Though Diane points out that Kyle’s more experienced, Jack’s determined. Kyle’s not happy. It’s one thing HIM passing on the job in favour of his Mom – quite another that Jack made that decision without considering him for the job.
