In their 50’s-inspired attire, Sally and Billy arrive at Society to find the place empty – except for Cane. I’m the only guest, he announces that the party’s been called off, hopefully along with the launch of Abbott Communications.

At home, Diane’s disappointed she won’t get to wear her 50’s dress. Jack’s leaving a message for Billy – we got your text saying the launch party’s been called off due to ‘Unforeseen circumstances’ – what does that mean??? Call me!

Still at CL’s, Kyle flashes back to the conversation he just had with Claire. When Holden arrives, he accuses him of getting drunk with Claire last night – stay the hell away from her!

Ordered to leave the vulnerable Claire alone, Holden doesn’t take kindly to threats. He wouldn’t take advantage of Claire (who he supported when Kyle was stuck in Nice) Holden’s not trying to undermine their relationship – he’s trying to help (by telling Audra to back off) Don’t ever come at me again with accusations, he warns Kyle.

Jack and Diane wonder why the party was called off last minute. With both Billy or Sally unreachable, Jack will have to get his answers elsewhere.

What has Cane done? He cancelled the decorations, took the ‘closed’ sign off the door and sent a text to the guests and press. Have a drink – let’s talk – you’ll be glad you did. Cane cancelled the party because he’s looking out for Billy and Sally and wants them as allies. You don’t want to launch a company right now, he warns that Victor will soon have the power to destroy Abbott Communications’ finances. How? Phyllis arrives to glare at Cane; he sold us all out!

Why did Holden talk to Audra? For his friend, Claire. I’m no threat to your relationship, Holden believes that Audra will leave them alone now. Kyle knows Holden’s a player who’s after Claire – you need to back the hell off! Claire’s NOT happy by what she’s walked in on.

Ending a call with Abby, Jack tells Diane that she doesn’t know anything either – her staff learned that the event was called off on social media. Diane wonders if Cane talked Billy into leaving Jack out (again) Though wanting to defend his brother, Jack concedes that Diane might not be wrong.

Cane tells Phyllis to speak freely – he has nothing to hide. When she asks if he has AI software that can infiltrate any company’s internal system, Cane correctly guesses that Nick was the one to tip her off. What the hell are you two talking about? Sally snaps.

Kyle thinks I might be a bad influence, Holden tells Claire that he’s just looking out for her; it’s ‘admirable’. Holden’s been a good friend to me, Claire wonders why that would be an issue for Kyle. He and Audra did something shady in LA – Kyle doesn’t trust him. Claire does – and, if you think you can dictate who I can be friends with our relationship doesn’t stand a chance.
