You created a multi-billion dollar empire in six years! Phyllis declares that ‘phenomenal’. Cane wanted to create a legacy for his family – but he lost them. You’re not alone in the world – you have me, Phyllis would never ask him to be someone different. Don’t bury Dumas, Phyllis encourages Cane to embrace the ‘blur’, the rest of the world be damned.
Yes, Holden regrets what happened with Audra – but it feels like Claire’s watching him like a hawk – he took a risk telling her what happened. If there was more (that wasn’t so ‘neat and tidy’) would you tell me? Claire asks. Audra appears to find them ‘canoodling’ – Poor Kyle; Prince Boring lost the girl of his dreams to a ‘stone cold player’.
Lily warns that the program can be used against whoever stole it. She believes Victor has it because he’s done nothing but lie to her. After Lily huffs off to the bar, Adam tells Chelsea that there’s a lot more of Dumas in Cane than she (Lily) wants to believe.
How can Cane live a life his kids can be proud of while being cutthroat (like Dumas)? Phyllis thinks Victor’s the blueprint – his kids idolize him – you can have the best of both worlds – fight for your family – you’ll win. She knows Cane’s too smart not to have a back up plan (to protect Arabesque) Yes, Phyllis has a plan, she always has a plan. Invite me up to your room for a nightcap, Cane wants to hear all about it.
Adam thinks it ridiculous and sad that Lily’s excusing Cane’s behaviour because he claims he’s changed. Chelsea hopes she’s not setting herself up for more heartache. Drinking wine at the bar, Lily flashes back to various times Cane’s shown glimpses of the man he once was; him wondering if she ever loved him as much as he thought she did.
In Phyllis’ suite, Cane wants to hear her plan to take over the world. She’s been busy coming up with a new endeavour – maybe you can invest. Is it Arabesque? That would be poetic if you used my AI to scoop up MY company for pennies on the dollar.
Claire taunts Audra – Holden took me to a cool club, the Shadow Room – have you been? Holden suggests they head out. Right – I have a job (to get to), Claire gloats. Kyle’s obsessed with me, Audra fires back – and I didn’t try to kill my entire family. You have no morals, no scruples, Claire snarls. When Holden suggests they leave, Audra’s ‘having fun’. I could change that with one phone call, Claire warns. Audra issues a warning too – You’re right, I’d have no problems crossing boundaries to get you to shut up.
Is that supposed to scare me? Claire’s haughty – you have no job, no family – just empty threats. Let’s see how quickly the boys run to your defence after I mess up that pretty little face of yours, Audra cups her chin. She’s not worth it, Holden steps in – let’s go somewhere else. You still have to answer my question, Claire reminds him. What question? Audra asks. You’ll find out – and so will everyone else, Claire leaves her looking worried.
Are you trying to kill the mood? Phyllis takes Cane’s glass and pours it into hers – you don’t deserve my ‘good stuff’. As he pours himself another drink, Phyllis claims she didn’t steal his program and doesn’t want Arabesque. You’re beautiful and brilliant at the art of deception, Cane compliments her. We both are – a match made in heaven, Phyllis flirts – you interested? I am, Cane admits ~kiss~
Still at the bar, Lily leaves Cane a message – sorry things got heated – she wants to believe him and even finds herself defending him. Lily needs time – maybe you have the patience for that, maybe you don’t (she gives her head a shake as she hangs up)
Meanwhile, Cane and Phyllis get hot and heavy in her suite.
