What you’re doing is wrong, we both know it, Claire tells her grandfather (who thinks she’s chosen a side) Jack tried to take NE from me numerous times, left me for dead twice and married the woman I love. He was born with a silver spoon in his mouth; he’s spoiled. That doesn’t sound like the man Claire knows. He’ll pay for almost killing Nikki, Victor vows. Stay away from the Abbotts – he doesn’t want her caught in the crossfire of what’s to come.
Vikki doubts her Dad will come around no matter what Nikki does or says. Dad loves you – he rebuilt the house for you. You’re the centre of his universe. Family should come together over the holidays. Nikki doesn’t want to leave but maybe Victor needs to learn what it’s like to lose something that’s important to him.
Nikki hopes Victor doesn’t force her to make good on her threat. Getting a text from Claire, Vikki asks her Mom to come to CL’s too. Nikki declines – and doesn’t want Vikki to take sides. Vikki’s proud of her Mom for taking a stand.
Billy comes home to say that his meeting with Phyllis went well – she wants full ownership of Marchetti signed over to Summer. That’s it? Jack has no problem with it. But, can we trust Phyllis? She should be our last resort. Getting a text from Nikki, Jack goes to meet her.
At CL’s, Vikki shocks Claire with the news that her grandmother may leave Victor if he doesn’t leave the Abbotts alone – hopefully he comes to his senses. Claire wonders if Kyle’s trying to drag her into this war – and admits she’s attracted to Holden.
Kyle’s all talked out on the subject of Claire. He praises Billy for being in the trenches with the family. You’ve had a calming affect on my Dad, he adds. Jack’s been my most consistent supporter, Billy says; he’s been thinking a lot about John.
Vikki’s more subtle in her warning about Holden; he’s a mystery. You sound like grandpa, Claire wonders if Victor’s trying to destroy Jabot to hurt Jack. Yes, that’s exactly what he’s trying to do.
Nikki tells Jack that she drew a line in the sand – she threatened to leave Victor if he didn’t give her the AI. Jack’s stunned that she’d leave a man she loves with every fibre of her being – ‘to protect me’?
Billy tells Kyle that he became a better person on his own – Sally’s happy with the man he is now. Without Victor and Jill, Billy might not be on this path. Kyle admires the way his uncle’s turned things around – I hope it continues. You and me both, Billy’s left to mutter.
Why isn’t anyone trying to stop Victor? You all like Jack. Does your devotion to grandpa outweigh compassion for anyone else?? Claire isn’t onboard with that.
Nikki doesn’t know what happens next but she’s serious – Victor’s constant attacks on Jack must stop – for good.
Still at home, Victor flashes back to finding Jack and Nikki in the hotel suite. Nikki’s turned a corner – she saved my life, Jack had told him. Sitting down with his tea, Victor then flashes back to Nikki’s threat – and his vicious reaction. GET OUT! He looks sad and lonely.
