Beautiful, all declare as Johnny plugs the tree lights on. As Billy and the kids go to the kitchen for foil to make a star, Vikki tells Sally that she hasn’t seen him this happy in a long time. Both worry that Billy’s trying to sell himself and everyone else on his new outlook on life.

Sally knows that Billy wants to believe he’s turned things around – but his anger towards Jill and Victor runs deep. His rage towards Adam is right below the surface. When she and Billy got closer after being cheated on – they talked about revenge. We were confident it wasn’t that. Vikki believes that Billy’s feelings are sincere. Billy swears he’s let go of his anger but she’s been through this white knuckled optimism before – her father was a drinker. Are you trying to love Billy or save him? Vikki has to ask.

Jack’s gift to Diane is a necklace that belonged to Coco Channel. Wow – he’s dazzled by the necklace and the gem that is his wife.

Interesting – an old journal from a woman who was one of the most important German-American philosophers. I love this, Victor gushes. We were on the same wavelength when it comes to Christmas gifts – something personal. They’ve spent so many Christmases together – the happiest times of Victor’s life.

Sally’s family didn’t have a lot growing up – one year she saw a TV commercial for a kids sewing machine. Her father vowed to get it for her – but didn’t. Vikki’s sorry. Near tears, Sally likens Billy’s promise of an amazing future to her Dad’s broken promises. She’s been through this before and can’t do it again. This has to be real with Billy or we’re not going to make it (Billy eavesdrops)

This isn’t the first time we’ve been at odds with one another, Nikki and Victor agree. Flashback to Nikki bringing a tiny tree into Victor’s house. That Christmas tree meant everything to me, Victor’s mother left him at an orphanage when he was 7 years old (0n Christmas Eve) Now, look at what we have, he’s in tears – beautiful children, grandchildren, he and Nikki hold hands.

Sally apologizes – that was a lot to put on you (this Christmas is a rough one for Vikki) You and Billy have made this a warm one, Vikki reassures as Billy and the kids return to put their foil star atop the tree. Our work here is done, Vikki thanks Sally for having them. Now alone, Billy and Sally agree – that was fun. He talks about how much Delia loved Christmas and how much he believes in Sally – I’m grateful you’re in my life – Merry Christmas ~kiss~

Jack and Diane dance in the living room. She promises to do whatever it takes to protect Jack’s family and it’s legacy. It’s your family and legacy too, Jack wishes Mrs Abbott ‘Merry Christmas’.

We’ve survived so much, Nikki and Victor agree. He too makes a list – a great grandchild – we have a lot to be proud of – Merry Christmas, they kiss and hug.

Merry Christmas/Happy Holidays – from the cast of The Young and The Restless.
