Nate’s ‘pissed off’ too but agrees that Cane would have picked up on it if he and Devon had known that the kidnapping was a ruse. Yes, Lily was getting something out of it – Chancellor. Was? Lemme guess – Victor screwed you over again, Devon assumes.
Victoria’s tone softens – she was just asking a question. Victor launches into his spiel about building an empire – he will not tolerate dissent. This fight with Mom feels different, Victoria hopes it’s not irreparable. It could be, unless your mother comes to her senses and picks the right side.
No, Nikki won’t stay mad – don’t worry about your grandfather and me. Asked how she’s holding up, Sharon’s trying to stay strong for Mariah. Sorry to interrupt, Sienna takes Noah onto the patio, while Nikki’s summoned by text to meet Victoria.
On the patio, Sienna shows Noah a text she got that totally freaked her out. Mrs Bacall – do you miss me as much as I miss you? How did Matt get my new number!? she wonders.
Lily admits there’s been a setback but must give Victor the benefit of the doubt. He’s always so trustworthy, a sarcastic Devon reminds that Victor promised her Chancellor before only to give it to his wife. Nate agrees with Devon. We don’t need Chancellor, Devon doesn’t believe it’s about the company – you wanted to stick it to your ex.
Victor arrives at Society as Cane orders another drink. You must be happy that Lily and the twins are safe and at their respective homes. Cane warns that Victor will pay for making him suffer. You ain’t seen nothin’ yet, Victor sneers.
At the club, Victoria’s heard ‘Daddy’s’ side and would now like to hear her Moms’. Your father’s need to win at all costs made him cross a line Nikki can’t accept. What did Daddy do that so unforgivable? Your father had Jack trapped on a yacht – he wasn’t alone. Vikki chuckles – not to sound heartless but Daddy’s not to blame for Diane leaving; that’s on Jack and whoever he was with.
Your wife ratted you out, Cane informs Victor that Nikki told him everything. How did you get Lily to go along with it? Victor chortles – ‘cheers’.
Devon understands why Lily would want to get back at Cane but disapproves of her aligning with Victor. He got Chancellor back but still needs it to pressure Phyllis into giving the other companies back, Lily explains. Cane was a mess, Nate chimes in. Yeah, Lily saw him; he wants nothing to do with me.
Noah tries to calm Sienna down – Matt’s just messing with our heads. He’s a coward who goes radio silent whenever I challenge him. Regarding Nick and Adam’s mission in Vegas, Sienna’s not even sure Matt knows Risa; she only saw an ‘R’ contact on his phone. Oh my God – what if he expected me to make the connection!? To get your Dad out of town so we’re more vulnerable?! Matt could be in GC, watching us.
Devon and Nate are happy Cane’s out of Lily’s life for good (as is she) Now you need to walk away from any deal with Victor – we don’t need Chancellor, Devon reiterates.
You really don’t see the damage your father’s done? Nikki’s astounded. He put Jack on that yacht and orchestrated everything; causing irreparable harm to Jack’s marriage. How would you feel if Jack did something to drive your father and I apart??? Jack would never do that, Victoria knows. PRECISELY – your father needs to be taught a lesson!
Victor didn’t need to offer Lily anything – she wanted to help me put you through hell. Go back to the chateau you stole from a feeble old lady. Cane snaps back – You thought I brought chaos before? Wait til you see what I do next! It only takes one match to burn the whole damn town down! Drinks on me, Cane tosses a bill on the bar and leaves. Get ready for more, Victor’s left to mutter to himself about making Cane’s life hell.
My Thoughts: If Lily’s so concerned about Dom, why didn’t she visit when he was still awake? …. It’s nauseating to hear a woman Victoria’s age calling her father ‘Daddy’. Sure, once in a blue moon to express extra emotion when a situation calls for it; like Victor being on his deathbed; but, it’s hard to take Victoria seriously as a middle aged business woman when she sounds like a toddler. I mean, she never refers to Nikki as ‘Mommy’… Didn’t Victor rebuild the ranch as a GIFT for Nikki? Is he going to take her Ferrari away next? I hope we’re not setting up for a Nikki-Jack fling. Has Nikki not put two and two together to come up with Patty? How cozy that Nikki, Diane, Phyllis and Patty are all staying at the GCAC …. Cool that Billie Holiday performed in the venue that Noah now runs as a nightclub in London. That live concert LP must be worth a fortune since 1959 is the year Billie Holiday died. I guess it wasn’t a nightclub back then because after being convicted of drug possession, Billie wasn’t legally allowed to perform where alcohol was served. If any of you dear readers are not familiar with ‘Lady Day’, please do yourselves a favour and give the haunting ‘Strange Fruit’ a listen. Considered a ‘controversial’ song at the time; a ‘protest’ song – it seems like a good time for me to wish those of you attending any of tomorrow’s ‘No Kings’ protests to be safe and peaceful.
