Cane’s on his own, and Phyllis doesn’t buy that Billy cares about her ‘as a friend’. He can’t be caught in the middle of this because Sally’s pregnant. For a third time, Phyllis tells Billy that he’s not implicated, and she’s not worried because Mike’s representing her. On cue, Mike arrives to tell Billy to worry about himself, not how he plans to handle Phyllis’ case.
Cane can do the donation here in GC, Nate tells Lily. She’ll explain to Chris that this is life or death. Nothing can get in the way of Malcolm’s surgery, she hugs her cousin.
Still at CL’s, Holden doesn’t want to pressure Claire but he misses spending time with her. I’m a great tour guide and I pay for everything, he reminds with a chuckle.
Nate questions Cane’s motives; he has an agenda (Lily) When Chris arrives (as summoned) Lily asks how serious the charges against Cane are and whether it’ll affect his freedom.
Billy tells Mike that he won’t be dragged into this – don’t throw me under the bus. I know enough to be dangerous and will hang your client and Cane out to dry without hesitation. Good luck, he exits.
Holden feels more connected to Claire than anyone in his past. Even Audra? Claire still feels he’s hiding something. He suspects she’ll come to NY if he tells her everything.
Billy comes home to update Sally that Phyllis was arrested yesterday and Cane was arrested today at the club. I’ve dodged a bullet, so far. Unsurprisingly, Sally hopes he won’t be charged. Victor’s focused on making Cane and Phyllis pay – I’m safe, for now, Billy decides.
Cane’s been arrested, Mike tells Phyllis. She can’t believe Victor’s getting away with this. Arrested doesn’t mean convicted, Mike points out. How will we beat this? Phyllis asks.
Chris tells Lily and Nate that Cane will be arraigned soon – reach out to Amanda for details. Lily has a favour to ask – a big one.
Claire wouldn’t manipulate Holden into sharing his secret to get a trip to NY. Holden will tell her everything if she comes.
Sally worries that Phyllis and Cane might try to bring Billy down with them. Billy warned Mike and Phyllis not to involve him. It’s their problem, not ours.
Phyllis questions Mike’s loyalty to her and demands honesty. OK, you stole Victor’s company from him, Mike retorts. That’s the last time you say that, do I make myself clear? Phyllis glares across her desk.
Lily tells Chris that Malcolm needs a bone marrow transplant. Cane’s the only match we could find. Can’t he wear an ankle monitor or have a police escort? This is the only way to save my Uncle’s life; please find a way to make it happen. Chris looks conflicted.
My Thoughts: It’s a bit odd that Nate and Malcolm have had almost no interaction, considering Malcolm adopted Nate when he was married to Olivia and was a father figure to him growing up. It’s also odd that Holden would have paid for everything when he and Claire went to LA (since he’s unemployed and she’s a Newman) Also, there’s nothing a woman loves more than a man pointing out that he’s paid for everything. Geesh …. Best part of today’s show was the nosy diner seated behind Lily who poked his head out to look directly at them for some reason… So, Phyllis was arrested ‘yesterday’ and Cane was arrested today – in the middle of the GCAC, yet, still no press has picked up on the story. GC’s media platforms continue to be asleep at the wheel.
