Under the right circumstances, Chris might change her position but she knows Phyllis won’t give the company back. Promising to keep each other posted on Danny’s whereabouts, Chris runs into Phyllis at the revolving door.
Everything OK? Daniel came over because things were getting ‘heated’. Chris is just doing her job. What about a plea deal? Daniel suggests. I’ve got this, Phyllis says – no, she won’t talk to Mike – you don’t have a case, she says as she marches upstairs.
Nick stands by his offer to Phyllis – Matt for the charges being dropped. Nothing about the company. There’ll be hell to pay when Victor finds out but he assures Sharon and Noah that he’s willing to suffer the fallout.
You don’t need my permission to be angry with me – but you have it, Mariah was never going to hurt Dom. He wants to see you, Devon admits. That’s because he has a big heart – a testament to you and Abby, Mariah’s willing to try to explain …..if Devon’s willing to listen.
Where the hell have you been? Didn’t I tell you…? Phyllis is firing on all cylinders as she barges into Matt’s room. What the hell is she doing here?! she glares at Patty (who’s looking right at home)
Mariah lost connection with reality and fell into darkness – for some reason, Dom became a beacon of light that would lead her out. When he was first born, she felt he was hers. Part of her knew taking Dom was wrong – another part told her it was necessary. Ian Ward was guiding her. No, she doesn’t see him anymore. I did a terrible thing; I knew I was doing it. Mariah had issues she never addressed until she came here. It’s the only way to move forward. She thanks Devon for coming and listening. You’re not just angry, you’re hurt, she concludes.
Matt and I are friends, Patty says that Phyllis is just jealous. He needed someone to be honest while you’re just using him to get what you want (then stab him in the back) Matt doesn’t like the hostility between the ladies – he needs to find out why the Newmans hate him. Why did you lie to me? he asks Phyllis. I thought we were friends. Why would you play with my mind like that?
Nick relays telling Chris that she’d be the one to take Matt down. Sharon worries about him making a deal behind his fathers back.
How long have you known who he is? Patty tells Matt not to trust Phyllis. But, Matt does. He trusts Phyllis too. Phyllis wants to tell him everything she found out but not in front of ‘that bitch’. Agreeing to leave (and meet for a drink later) Patty gives Matt a kiss on her way out. After a rant about Matt going to meet Patty, Phyllis announces that she knows all of his history and all his enemies.
Mariah’s OK with Devon hating her but don’t let it ruin your life. Your wife and son love you so much – don’t let your feelings consume you. Devon doesn’t hate Mariah – he wouldn’t give her that power over him. He then blames himself for letting it happen. I failed to protect my son!
It’s not good, Phyllis begins – you’ve tried to kill various members of the Newman family; assault, rape. Near tears, Matt shakes his head ‘nope’. Why didn’t you tell me it was your ex punched me?? Go hang out with Patty! Phyllis heads for the door. Please don’t leave me right now, Matt pleads.
Turning Matt over to the police seems like the best move to Nick – Chris will make sure he stays put. Dad can’t stop this plan. Sharon’s puzzled – You said you wanted to kill Matt now you’re willing to turn him over to the cops. Something seems off.
Noah agrees with his Mom but approves of his Dad’s idea. Nick promises he won’t take matters into his own hands when he gets Matt.
It’s a lot to take in, Matt doesn’t want his memories back – who wants to know they’re a horrible person??? Everyone deserves forgiveness, Phyllis says. When he decides to leave town, she says he can’t. Why not!? What aren’t you telling me?!! Matt asks.
Devon promised everyone that he’d protect Dom. He still thinks Mariah belongs in prison. She wanted to go to prison – Tessa, Chris and her Mom convinced her that this is the only way to heal. Please, don’t let the anger suck you in. Devon will do his best to forgive and accept Mariah’s apology. That’s all he can do. Mariah thinks he needs to forgive himself.
