Clearly under the influence, Nick fidgets as Victor reports Patty’s intel that Phyllis is using Matt for her own agenda. He didn’t want to believe what Adam suggested – you’ve been negotiating with Phyllis behind my back.
Yes, Nick went behind his Dad’s back but it’s not as bad as it looks. His plan is to get the current charges against Phyllis dropped – then have her charged with harbouring a fugitive (Matt) Phyllis doesn’t have Matt – Patty does. They wonder what SHE wants in exchange for him.
Matt calls Phyllis from outside the GCAC – do you really have feelings for me? Yes, Phyllis does. Meet me, she implores (unless you’re with Patty)
Jack will never believe that Patty’s changed. You forgave Diane, she points out and WE have an ‘undeniable pull’ too. Patty relishes a challenge; you’re going to be very surprised at how this all works out.
Sally asks Audra to be her maid of honour.
Billy doesn’t want to talk about Victor; he’s old, bad news, and he has good news – Sally and I are getting married. Offering condolences (for Sally) instead of congratulations, Adam pales when hearing that she’s pregnant.
Matt admires Phyllis’ portrait on the wall – you’re a stunning woman. Patty said you plan to trade me for having charges against you dropped. Has your kindness all been a manipulative lie? he wonders.
‘A baby’ – Adam wishes Sally the best. Being fathers is the only thing we have in common, Billy was giving him an opportunity to be the bigger man. Enjoy your drink and your dinner, he throws money on the bar and will go tell Sally that ‘you wish her the best’.
Sally makes jokes about her husband and best friend being stuck in the same space. Audra’s all in – she vows to support Sally, til death do us part, they giggle over a pinky swear.
Nick clearly hasn’t forgiven Patty for almost killing his daughter. Waltzing in, her request for a drink is ignored. Yes, she’s ready to make a deal.
Phyllis really likes Matt. What do you like about me? You’re a good man in need of a friend. She had to knock him out to protect him. Hoping she’s not playing a ‘mean trick’, Matt feels the same way. Locking eyes, he leans in for a kiss. Phyllis tries not to recoil.
There’s my beautiful fiance, Billy joins the ladies for a love fest. He’s thrilled to hear that Audra will be Sally’s maid of honour and appreciates her tattling about the dizzy spell. Smiling, Sally grumbles about them ganging up on her.
Chelsea arrives at Society babbling about Connor being the reason she’s late. What’s wrong? Did something happen? she detects Adam’s mood.
Jack comes home to pour two drinks and rant to Traci about his run in with Patty. Neither of them thought this break up would last.
Matt backs out of the kiss – wait, am I married? Yes, you were married to a woman named Sienna – she’s with Noah now, Phyllis adds – Yes, the kid who attacked you in the park. If they cheated, that means I’m not the monster! Matt giddily concludes.
Patty doesn’t want money – she has plenty of that. What she wants is for Victor to convince everyone that she’s changed. Yes, she’s staying in GC for good and plans to be the next Mrs Jack Abbott.
