As Jack walks aside, Patty tells Kyle that she’s sorry his Mom’s toyed with his (and Jack’s) emotions. It’s wishful thinking that she didn’t leave willingly. Jack agrees – Kyle’s right. You can’t see the truth? Patty’s amazed and sorry for them.
Phyllis clearly has misgivings about handing Matt over to Victor. The man she’s been talking to doesn’t remember doing terrible things – he really wanted to save Nick. Victor’s the one who could have ended this sooner – Nick was the one thinking rationally. What WAS the deal exactly? Nikki asks.
In his study, Victor tells Adam that the image of Nick dying in front of his eyes will haunt him for the rest of his life. Matt and Phyllis saved him. Adam knows for sure it wasn’t a ploy on Phyllis’ part – or probably Matt’s. When thinking Nick was dead, Victor would have given up a thousand empires to bring him back.
You’re OK, Matt states the obvious. No, he didn’t act to wipe the slate clean – maybe it was instincts – they say I’m a drug dealer. He can’t imagine he’d allow his hands to do these things – he sees the way people look at him and it makes sense. It’s hard to believe I could be that way. People love you (Nick) I see the way people look at you. No one’s ever looked at me like that. So, this is your redemption? Nick gets agitated. Knowing he’s about to be killed, Matt hopes saving Nick saves his own soul.
So sad that you refuse to see it, Patty reminds Kyle and Jack that Diane left them both to grieve – then came back. You insist I can’t have changed. If you truly believe that you have to accept that she hasn’t changed either. Diane’s probably left you both for good.
Adam tells Victor that HE must decide what to do with Matt. If we let Nick go forward with HIS plan, we may lose him for good.
Phyllis is vague, the plan’s not in play anymore after recent events – ‘it’s unclear’. Nikki wants answers. And Phyllis would like to see Nick.
Maybe I don’t have a soul, Matt agrees. It’s just life – if this is the end maybe it’s what I deserve. I could kill you with my bare hands right now – and you’d still have no memory of what you’ve done! A furious Nick punches his Dad’s heavy bag a few times – then grunts as his fist hovers inches away from Matt’s compliant face.
Nest Week – Stephanie got a call from the board of directors at GC Memorial – someone put my name in the running for chief of staff. That would be me, Nate grins …. Nikki’s had these migraines before – her doctor will likely say it’s a symptom of her MS. What if it’s something more? Victoria worries …. Since we’ve done such a good job with Connor, Adam asks Chelsea what she thinks about having another child.
