Sorry for making things weird, Matt lacks social graces because he’s spent more time with animals than people. You’re looking for a job? Cane asks. Matt’s looking for a whole life. He continues trying to bond with Cane over losing a father until Phyllis comes over to ask what they’re doing together.
How do you two know each other? Phyllis asks. This man’s a legend, Matt has lots of questions for Cane. Adam introduced us. It’s interesting – convenient even, Cane’s even more suspicious.
You don’t need to feel threatened by me, Audra claims. Oh, Sienna isn’t threatened by her ‘mean girl energy’ and she’s not jealous – but she is curious about what Audra roped Holden into in LA. As for Noah, he’s not interested. Interested in what? he returns to ask.
Claire knows something’s wrong. Victoria confides that her Mom’s having terrible headaches – she can’t even speak; her vision’s blurred. Claire can see that she’s scared.
Near tears, Victoria talks about her Mom’s battle with alcoholism, then her MS. My strong, brave Mom is in pain. Claire wonders if her Mom’s going to worse case scenario because of Cole. Victoria wants answers now. The thought of anything happening to my mother…. she’s in so much pain. Victoria’s so afraid; she doesn’t want to think about a world without her mother in it. Claire’s supportive. Whatever happens, we’ll get through this ~hug~
In the background, Holden arrives at the Shadow Room. Audra grins at Noah – Sienna thinks I came here with ulterior motives. Did you? he asks. Audra won’t tell anyone about seeing Matt at the park – you’ve already been through enough with that freak. See? Noah and I can have a perfectly innocent conversation. Have a good night, Audra goes over to Holden. He suspects she’s making trouble. You just can’t help yourself.
Phyllis understands why Cane would be suspicious. It’s very odd – but he seems fine. How do you know each other? she wonders. We talked at the club, Matt reminds. Cane remembers seeing him there – when you’re ready to be honest, we can have a conversation. After Cane leaves, Phyllis scoffs – you were Hope’s horse wrangler? What do you want with Cane?
After calling the kids, Victoria reports that it’s family movie night – but insists Claire go meet Holden at the Shadow Room. Claire texts her siblings to tell them to let Mom pick the movie (because she’s the best)
