Proof? You want me to take Cane out for a beer? Devon jokes. No, Lily wants him to give Holden a chance. Billy tried/failed to recruit him. See? That’s why Devon doesn’t think him trustworthy.
Devon wouldn’t betray Lily and neither would Nate. Holden pretended to be Nate’s brother (Damian) he adds. Holden chose family, Lily wishes her brothers could get along. When Stephanie arrives with Nate, he rewards her with a hug for gathering everyone to wish him well.
Diane’s finger is swollen so she can’t get it out of the bottle. After Jack puts some sunscreen on it, her finger comes out but her wedding band is in the bottle.
How you doing? Logan tells Marie that she looks good. Not smiling, Nick shakes his hand. Logan immediately rubs Nick the wrong way, then recognizes him; Victor Newman’s son is in rehab? Logan would like a word alone with his wife – please.
Though Diane panics, Jack won’t smash the bottle – he’ll use positive energy. Magically, the ring comes out and so does the note. Is all love lost? is all it says.
After some jokes about Nate’s cooking skills and hugs, Stephanie and Nate leave Devon to comment that she’s really been stepping up for him.
Nick reluctantly steps out of the room to eavesdrop as Logan belittles Marie – have you been badmouthing me to your rich boyfriend? He came to have one last look at the biggest mistake of his life before cutting her loose. You think that rich guy gives a damn about scum like you? Are you already sleeping with him? He grabs her face; Marie gives him a shove; Nick rushes in.
Lily thanks the new and improved Devon for softening on Holden. She and Devon are tired of arguing and love each other.
We thought ‘is all love lost’ once, Diane and Jack must write a message back.
As Logan lays motionless on the floor, Marie panics – he must have hit his head. We can’t be here when he wakes up. Nick checks for a pulse, then gives Marie an alarmed look.
Diane reads out the note she jotted down – love is never lost but sometimes loses its way – don’t give up, love will find you. You’re stuck with me forever, Jack says as he slides the ring back on her finger.
Stephanie comes back to CL’s after dropping Nate off at Memorial. he has the best surgeon in the world for this procedure and she bought him a pair of his favourite shoes for the operating room.
Nick needs Marie to go back to her room – I’ll take care of this. Why are you saying that? Marie bleats – is he dead? Did I kill him?!
Next Week: Victoria asks ‘how much do you want for the patents’? Audra wants something more interesting than money …. Jack believes in Billy so much that he’s willing to invest in a start up company ‘that’s all yours’ … Nick hugs Mike – ‘thanks for making sure something finally went right’ … Matt’s stunned. Patty! what are you doing here? How did you get out? If I told you I’d have to kill you, she quips.
My Thoughts: Hard to imagine a visitor dying on the floor of a rehab facility’s communal games room with still no staff member noticing … Isn’t it a bit too soon for Lily to miss Devon AND Nate and boast that she’s doing a good job running Winters-Chancellor by herself? Nate’s only been off work for one day …. How can Devon, with a straight face, claim that Nate wouldn’t ‘betray’ him or Lily? Sure – except for that time Nate betrayed Devon by sleeping with Elena (which resulted in the fight that left Nate unable to perform surgery) Nate also betrayed his cousins when he conspired with/spied for Victoria with the goal of having Newman buy controlling interest of Chancellor-Winters when it was slated to go public… Nice to hear Nate finally acknowledge that he won’t be lacing up his new shoes and cutting people open as soon as his anesthesia wears off… As Memorial’s Chief of Staff, Stephanie should probably tone down her fawning over Nate, stop patting herself on the back about buying him new shoes and arranging the lamest and most lowly-attended pre-procedure get together imaginable. I do give her credit for not trying to shoehorn (excuse the pun) Holden into the ‘family’ celebration.
