Kyle’s summoned Victoria to his Dad’s office. After some playful banter, she assumes Jack signed off on reviving the Vibrante-Jabot rivalry and it’s all systems go. You’re half right, Kyle replies.
Moping over his jigsaw puzzle when Victor arrives, Nick stands for a hug. No words are necessary.
Anything you need? Victor asks. Just my Dad – Nick doesn’t want anyone to see him ‘like this’. You’re my son, Victor says with tears in his eyes.
Ending a call with her lawyers by saying ‘Billy’s NOT getting Chancellor without a fight’, Lily gets a surprise visit from Jack. He respects her for making the offer but can’t accept it.
Jack thinks it pretty straightforward – the Abbotts have a claim to Chancellor. As fond as he is of Lily, Jack’s staying out of it. Before he ‘steps back’, he has one thought to share.
Despite neither taking the idea to their fathers, Kyle and Victoria are moving forward. They plan to ‘build anticipation’ until Vibrante gets some products out. Anticipation is half the fun, they flirt.
Nick feels ashamed – you’d never let this happen to you. There but for the grace of God go I, Victor recites solemnly – you’re a Newman; we’ll fight this together.
Jack thinks Lily offering to repay the loan is a logical move – but it also indicates that she knows the Abbotts have a rightful claim. You know what Billy’s like. Would it be the end of the world to give him this win? Jack leaves Lily to think.
Nick tells his Dad about the woman he saved at the motel – and that she’s now checked into the facility because he said they’d ‘get through it together’. Does that mean you’re becoming close? Victor asks.
Kyle and Victoria’s banter continues. He notices that she’s wearing Jabot’s signature foundation. Victoria would be happy to take it off. Appearing in the doorway, Jack and Diane look puzzled.
Diane finds it ‘interesting’ that Victoria’s at Jabot to see Kyle – what for? Kyle will fill them in after their relaxing vacation. Jack cuts Diane off to say that he’s ready to be Nick’s sponsor (if he so chooses) Is Victor onboard? Diane asks. He’s resistant to the idea, Victoria admits. Good luck with that, Diane’s sharp tone draws stares.
You went through something traumatic together – will this be a problem? Victor asks. Nick likes having Marie here; she’s smart and funny; she doesn’t wallow. She wants what I want – to beat this. Yes, Victor’s worried she’ll drag Nick down. Nick’s determined to put in the work because he wants to come home. Victor’s proud of Nick. You’re my boy – ~ hug~ I love you, Dad.
