Kyle joins Mariah at CL’s to say a few nice words about Hilary and joke about his matchmaking skills. He’d like to take her and Tessa out tonight. Mariah’s vague when declining and leaves Kyle to wonder why she hasn’t had a second date with Tessa.
Please just go, Shawna’s holding the door for Cane when Devon comes home to wonder what’s going on. He tried to convince me not to tell the police the truth; almost had me until he said it was for my own good and against Hilary’s dying wishes, Shawna sniffles. Get the hell out of my house! Devon orders. He’s only using you for revenge, Cane claims on his way. And you’re trying to use me to protect your wife, Shawna replies. Cane asks Devon not to do something he’ll regret for the rest of his life. Your wife should have thought about that before taking the wheel, Devon slams the door in his face.
Phyllis comes into Billy’s office to hear that Kyle was snooping around. Maybe you put him up to it, Billy teases – now, go shut the door (seems it’s time to kiss and make up, again)
At the club, Mariah gets a call from Tessa; who’s settling her sister safely in Canada. Then we can focus on our lives. I miss you. Be safe, Mariah says. She’s then alarmed to hear Tessa telling someone to leave her alone. Hello? Hello? Hoping it was just a bratty kid, Mariah leaves a message asking Tessa to call her back asap.
Cane’s now at HWG to reassure Lily that Devon will come around – we just need to wait. Lily loves Cane for spending the day being her champion and his strength makes it easier for her to do the right thing and tell the police that she caused Hilary’s accident. The Ashby’s now share a silent and sad hug.
My Thoughts: Given that Victor installed a camera in Vikki’s home, why hasn’t it occurred to her (and Nikki) that he might have bugged her office? It would be even easier for Victor to accomplish yet the ladies babble about their crime like no one’s listening. Nikki even commented that Victor knows everything that goes on at NE (because he obviously got a call from security) It’s odd that security knew that Nikki called them for assistance and then hung up abruptly. Instead of rushing up to ensure that Nikki’s OK and not having an MS episode or in need of help, they stay seated at their desk and call Victor. What exactly is Nikki doing at NE anyway? And why is she completely OK with Victor hiring a doctor for her. Perhaps she’s comfortable with the doctor who’s currently treating her. She once hated Victor micromanaging her…. Are we expected to believe that no other premiere executive power couple filled the vacuum left by Victor and Nikki? If they’re only an executive power couple when Nikki’s working for Victor, there’s been a vacancy for years. Perhaps GC doesn’t need a premier executive power couple. And who will replace GC’s premiere revolving, toxic, emotionally abusive power couple? …. It really makes no sense for Sharon to be so attached to her house. There are just as many negative memories as good. And perhaps Nick doesn’t want to live in a house (and sleep in a bed) that Sharon’s shared with at least two other men, Dylan and Scott… We get it, Mattie’s smart – but why does she automatically know that London is 5 hours ahead? I had to Google it and I have family there … Cane’s despicable in using Hilary’s death to try manipulate Shawna to lie to the police (who will surely want a statement from her once Devon rats Lily out) And what about this truck driver? Surely he’s told the police that he’s innocent. Will Cane go after him too? It was an accident and Lily must let it play out as it should…. Oh no. Whatever has happened to Tessa? And will anyone care besides Mariah? Can’t say I will.
