Nick’s at the ranch to ask his Mom if Vikki replacing Adam at Newman means Dad’s going to prison for murder. Victor enters to relay the story of 11-year-old Adam pushing AJ to protect his Mother. So, this sonofabitch is trying to blackmail his own Father for a murder HE committed, Nick concludes with a scowl.

Coming downstairs to make Connor hot chocolate, Chelsea adds that they’ll try to call his Dad again. Worried, she wishes Adam would come home.

Adam couldn’t discuss this over the phone with Sharon. Everything I thought I knew about my childhood isn’t true. You know me better than anyone else. I need you!

On the CL’s patio, Tessa’s fancied up a table with a tablecloth, flowers and a cupcake so Mariah can relax a bit.

Ashley’s home to ask Jack how Mother is. She’s resting, he relays Dina getting agitated then saying the word ‘Bixley’. Who or what is Bixley?

Calling to ask Nikki if she’ll babysit Connor, Chelsea’s glad to hear that Victor will be there too. Connor needs to feel safe and loved; Victor’s the only one who can give him what he needs right now.

Victor’s pleased to hear that Chelsea’s bringing Connor over – we can control what he finds out. Nick has a hard time believing that Adam doesn’t remember killing a man and hates what he did to Vikki. He’ll keep the secret for Connor’s sake. One more thing – this is it, right? Adam’s out of our lives for good, right? Silence. That’s what I thought, Nick exits in a huff. Nikki’s left to scold Victor for thinking only of how Adam feels – think about how Vikki feels for once.

No, Jack won’t let this go. He’s determined to find out who or what ‘Bixley’ is. Ashley will help him.

You’ve jinxed us by saying it’s a slow day (at the clinic) Elena tells Nate – as the phone rings.

Amanda’s sitting with Devon at Society to discuss some contracts related to his charity work. No, she won’t bill him – pro bono means free. Look at us now, Devon smiles – two kids who grew up in the foster care system.

Sharon can’t deal with another Newman power struggle. This is about me – I killed a man when I was a kid and Victor covered it up. Adam insists that Sharon’s the only person who can help him come to terms with that. Nick appears to growl – what the hell are you doing here?

Mariah expresses her appreciation for Tessa’s support until she reads an incoming text. Are you kidding me? How could you do this? she glares across the table.

An online search on Jack’s phone turns up hundreds of Bixley’s; everything from an artist to a cat up for adoption. Suggesting they look for the name in Dina’s memoirs, Ashley then finds the name scrawled on a notepad. It’s Mother’s handwriting. Bixley isn’t just a random word.

Victor’s very disappointed by Vikki’s lack of compassion for what Adam’s going through. Defending Vikki, Nikki wants Victor to repair the relationship. When Chelsea arrives, she goes to the stables to see Connor. That leaves Chelsea to update that George convinced Adam of the facts – and now she doesn’t know where he took off to.

Are you OK? Nick asks. Yes, Sharon’s fine. Of course she’s fine, Adam won’t be tossed out by Nick and thinks Sharon can speak and think for herself. Her phone ringing, Sharon excuses herself saying ‘please don’t fight’. Don’t dump your problems on a woman who just had surgery, Nick confuses Adam.

Back at the ranch, Chelsea reports that Adam’s tormented and confused. She’d hoped he’d come to Victor. He’ll recover from this – the family will help him, Victor does indeed love his son. He’s my flesh and blood. You know how that is. Knowing that Adam may never thank Victor, Chelsea does.

Cancer? Adam had no idea. Nobody told me. That’s because you aren’t part of Sharon’s life and Nick intends to keep it that way. Adam cares about Sharon too. Sharing history and kids doesn’t give Nick the right to decide who’s in Sharon’s life. He won’t leave until he apologizes to her. Go! Nick orders. He, Rey, Mariah etc. will make sure Adam keeps his distance.

When were you going to tell me about this festival in October? Mariah just learned about it from Tanner. He thinks Tessa not going is a mistake and so does Mariah (who lists a bunch of famous musicians performing) Tessa doesn’t think a music festival will make or break her – but losing Mariah would.

Still at Society, Devon and Amanda bond over putting his inheritance to good use (thanks to Neil setting him straight) She’s impressed that he’s setting a good example – with everything that’s going on.

Nate leaves Elena to take the next call while he goes for coffee.

Jack spoke to Mother’s nurse – she gave Dina the pad and pen. Writing that word took some effort, Ashley wonders if Bixley’s another long lost sibling.

Jack refuses to believe that Dina has another child out there. We’d know. She kept her fling with Stewart Brooks a secret for decades, Ashley thinks anything’s possible. What’s going on? Traci arrives to ask.

Drink in hand, Victor relays that Adam now accepts the truth. We both know what he’s capable of when pushed to the breaking point, Nikki remarks.

Adam’s gone – you don’t have to worry about it, Nick tells Sharon (who threatens to ask Adam if he won’t tell her the story) Nick complies – but let Chelsea deal with it; she’s engaged to the guy. He needs MY help, Sharon presses for more details. Nick shares a story he doubts. Both Adam and Dad have a problem with the truth. He’s always thought Adam a dark person.
