Chance unburdens himself to Victor (who speaks of building a legacy for his kids) No, it doesn’t change how he feels about Abby, absolutely not – what kind of man would turn his back on the woman he loves because of one setback. What kind of man indeed, Victor likes what he hears.

When Abby comes to book a room at TGP, Phyllis assumes she had a fight with Chance. No, we’re deeply in love and looking towards the future, Abby’s tears puzzle Phyllis.

What’s wrong with you? You’re about to lose your mind in my hotel lobby, Phyllis gives Abby a key – it’s on me, just go. Why are you being so nice to me? Because I’m a nice person – go to your room, Phyllis is left to roll her eyes, baffled.

Jack’s glad Traci confided in him – with their parents both gone it’s even more important to remain connected. We sound like the wise family elders, they agree. Jack chokes up when told that he’s become exactly like their Father – the nicest thing anyone’s ever said to him. We can get Abby and Chance through this.

Victor’s glad Chance, a man of great honour and integrity, is in his daughter’s life. After the shock and depression wears off, he’s sure Abby will embrace a new vision of her future – will you be willing to support her in that new vision? he asks.

Upstairs, in her room, Abby removes her coat, pulls out her phone and sits on the bed to text Chance – got a room at TGP – just need to sleep. I love you. Heartbroken, she lays down.

‘Thanks for taking care of that’, Phyllis ends a call as Victor strolls into the hotel to bid her ‘good morning’. If you’re here, there must really be a problem, she comments – with Abby; who checked in last night. I shouldn’t have mentioned it, she excuses herself.

Awakening from a dream that she’s tending to her crying baby, Abby reads a text from Chance. He’s working from home so is there is she needs him (but there’s no pressure to come back)

Abby comes down to find her Dad barking into his phone (at whoever stood him up for a business breakfast) This is weird – what are you doing here? Did ‘she’ call you? We don’t talk, Phyllis looks disgusted. Taken aside, Abby tells her Father that she’s feeling much better and is now going home to talk to Chance. That leaves Phyllis to ask Victor what’s going on. Have a nice day, he’s not talking.

Abby comes home – we need to talk. Chance agrees and goes first – he loves Abby and is sorry if his words didn’t come out right last night. Abby was crushed last night; the biggest disappointment of her life – but we need to explore all the options and decide what’s best for us. Chance is all in (as long as Abby’s not rushing into this for his sake) Assured she isn’t, he can’t wait to get started on this adventure with her.
