During a powwow at Society, Billy tells Devon that he hasn’t been sleeping lately and that’s led him to explore his feelings – which have led him to an idea that might be beneficial.

Lily drops by the penthouse – with a gift for Dominic and to quiz Amanda about her new law practice. Hearing that she’ll soon need some more clients to afford her (and Imani’s) new office space, Lily knows of a pretty big client looking for representation. Who? Me.

In the living room, Chance ignores a call as he flashes back to panicking when hearing glass shatter after Rey left him in the alleyway. Abby comes down to say she could barely get a smile out of Dom. She’s so grateful Chance is home; in your arms, I feel our little boy is going to be OK ~hug~

No, Lily has no issues with her contract with Jill but some of her senior execs at CI are resistant to change. So, Lily wants Amanda to work with her and Billy again – this time at the Mother ship instead of ChanceCom.

Back at Society, Billy tells Devon that he’ll sleep when he’s old. It’s no big deal; he’s most creative at night when it’s dark and quiet. Devon knows it must be exhausting. Working from home has its perks – Lily came down to hear his recorded thoughts the other night – which sparked an interesting conversation.

Chance thinks they should let Dom sleep. Declining to update her family, Abby has all the support she needs. Did you talk to Rey? Briefly. He understood you had to leave early? Nate’s call saves Chance from answering. Abby asks if Dom’s test results are back yet.

Amanda appreciates Lily thinking of her but the timing’s not right. Lily’s asking Amanda to be her chief counsel. That’s a senior-level executive role, Amanda points out that Chancellor’s huge. Lily persists – the broadcast project Billy and Devon are working on. ChanceCom was the perfect preparation for where she wants to take CI – with forward-thinking staff like Amanda (who needs to catch her breath)

Nate’s bringing Dr Austin over to explain the results. Should I call Devon? A house call? Chance is nervous. Abby too – if it was something simple Nate would have said so on the phone. Chance reassures – we’ll find out what’s wrong and deal with it.

Back at Society, Billy and Devon continue to brainstorm. This collaboration would be like living vicariously through someone else’s feelings. People will write in – there’ll be no shortage of material. Maybe I’ll start my own podcast, Billy jokes. If it’s boring, it’ll be a cure for insomnia. Devon’s serious – your soul searching could help other people – encourage them to dig deep. Getting a call from Nate, Devon has to go. Great work, he loves Billy’s ideas.

At the estate, Devon tries to remain optimistic. If it was an emergency, Nate would have had them come to the hospital.

Amanda can now see how she was able to persuade Billy to be her second in command at CI. He realized he was letting his ego get in the way of a great opportunity. We fight less now that it’s clear who’s in command, Lily asks Amanda to come with her to speak to someone before she says ‘no’.

At the estate, Nate’s mostly silent as the specialist tells Dom’s three parents that it’s not leukemia but a rare blood disorder that will lead to bone marrow failure if Dom doesn’t get a transplant. All look devastated.

After the doctor explains that Abby and Devon might only be a half donor each, they both drive to Memorial to be tested. Chance will stay behind in case Dom needs him.

Tell me you’re joining the team, Billy hopes when Lily brings Amanda home (since the offices are still under construction) Informed about his joint venture with Hamilton Winters, Amanda balks at walking out on Imani. Package deal? OK, Amanda will talk to her and get back to them.

I fell asleep then and woke up in time to see that Abby was only a half match but Devon is a full match. I may or may not have had too much sun, seafood and sangria, not in that particular order. Happy Valentine’s Day everyone.
