Daddy – what brings you by? Victor doesn’t need a reason to visit his beautiful daughter in the building that bears his name. He’s there to tattle on Ashland. Vikki already knows that he funded the clinic in Peru. You know he lied to you? Vikki feels her Father’s scrutiny of her husband is somewhat of a betrayal. Victor changes course – he’s there to ask how the acquisition of Newman Media’s going. Adam? He’s been on his best behavior – but – the most peculiar thing has happened….

Picking a mug up off the floor of his office, Adam flashes back to how it got there. Pausing in the hallway to smile at her own memories, Sally’s arrival cues instant chemistry. We ‘fraternized’ yesterday, a lot – crossed many lines, but no, she doesn’t regret it, not one bit. Things are going to be hot as long as we’re within ten feet of each other.

Adam and Sally liken their intensity to that of an earthquake, a tsunami, or a wildfire. How will we handle this? What is ‘this’? Sally wants clarification.

Vikki informs her Dad that Adam made his first big hire – naming Sally Spectra as his COO. She has no experience, an annoyed Victor leaves Vikki to smirk to herself.

Nick doesn’t need a reason to visit his Mom. He’s not avoiding his Father – we’re getting along. Hearing that Victor’s at the office – as an advisor, Nick can’t help but worry about his Mom getting caught in the crossfire with Adam and Vikki working together.

Nikki can handle sibling rivalry and she will sidestep with her usual style and grace. Nick has faith in his Mom, it’s everyone else he worries about. Pleased that he’s happy working at New Hope, she thinks Nick’s trip to visit Summer grounded him.

In Newman’s hallway, Ashland gets a text – ‘the American is still digging around the clinic’. There you are, you just missed my Father, Vikki greets him. You never mentioned my Father questioning you about the clinic, she adds that she turned the tables by sending him in Adam and Sally’s direction – he’s not happy about Adam hiring Sally without consulting him.

Back at Newman Media, Sally elaborates – she doesn’t regret what happened here – or there – or over there – definitely not what happened here (the desk) ‘Spectacular’, Adam makes it clear that it was no casual hook-up – he wants to be with Sally. Tempting, but Sally doesn’t want to sneak around as his dirty little secret. Adam respects her too much for that and can’t think of any reason why he’d keep her a secret. I can, Victor interrupts what’s about to be a kiss.

We’re in the middle of sensitive negotiations so don’t need distractions, Victor scowls. That’s what you think I am? Sally’s sour.

Back at NE, Vikki wonders if her Father’s keeping Adam in place so she can keep an eye on him and put him back in his place if need be. He wants Adam to learn his lesson from the best. Vikki boasts that she’s been the rook, the pawn and the queen. Knowing Adam doesn’t want to take orders from them, Ashland believes it’s not a question of if Adam makes his move, it’s when.

Adam thinks his Dad owes Sally an apology. And Victor thinks Sally more than an innocent distraction – going from dressmaker to COO is a meteoric rise. Sally was surprised too but only a fool would turn it down. And when Victor mentions the debacle at Fenmores and what she did to Summer, Sally interrupts Adam’s automatic defense – I’ve got this.
